You can now assign SPN as the owner of a Fabric item! 😲

With the new associated identities for items feature in Microsoft Fabric, ownership is no longer tied to a person. Instead, items can be owned by a Service Principal or Managed Identity.

⚠️ Important: this is currently supported for Lakehouse and Eventstream only.

𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬:
✔️ No more user-based ownership for critical data assets
✔️ Solutions don’t break when people leave or change roles
✔️ Cleaner separation between human users and platform identities
