Regarding my AI Course video: it's come to my attention I may have stepped on the toes of legitimate course makers with my admittedly heavy-handed framing of the course ecosystem.

The video wasn't trying to attack anyone trying to share valuable knowledge in a meaningful way. I know courses are one of the ways many talented and smart people make a living, and if the course is valuable and presented in a non-scummy way, I think that's great.

AI wasn't even really the focus of the video either. It's about manipulation. I don't like seeing people who want to learn getting manipulated, and unfortunately it's just getting easier and easier to do that.

I respect those trying to create educational content that helps people, even if that content is behind a paywall. Artists and creators have to eat and pay rent.

Red Means Recording will always be a human-first channel: one that values community and humanity over political, economic, and psychological systems that aim to take advantage of us. I hope that makes sense, and I hope that any of my peers who feel as if I stepped on their toes can forgive me for how I may have overlooked their honest attempts at connecting with people.

Hey everyone! Gumroad has imploded in some pretty wild ways over the last few months. The CEO went to work for DOGE under Elon and now works at the IRS. He's set up Gumroad as a fully AI-run platform now, with everything from support to page creation. On top of this they take a whopping 10% from every sale.
