A little more math for those who like to talk/think about possible trade targets. This below illustrates the situation for what the roster would look like Game 1 of the playoffs with Barkov back. This leaves the LW spot next to Bennett open so you can see how much cap hit we can handle in that spot. So if we acquired a player instead of having Samo, Vilmanis or Bo take that spot, the players cap hit can be no more than 2.232 million after retention, so basically any F making over 4.5 is going to be off limits unless we send back a top 9 player who would be active in the below example. So trading Boqvist has no effect on the actual game day playoff roster being cap compliant, all that matters is the cap hit for each individual game day roster. This also shows why we can't put Erod in that spot when fully healthy. Trading Bo would make things easier to bring back Jones after the Olympics though, but then if something happens to Samo or Vilmanis you cannot replace them with Bo because he would be gone and cannot afford Erod , so Greer would have to move up and then probably Kunin slots back in on 4th line. Zito has his work cut out for him and in some cases, the small difference in salaries like the 855 of Vilmanis vs 775 for Samo or the difference between Petry and Balinksi's salary, is actually needed to make a compliant roster. Every possible move he makes has like 5 corresponding cause & effects, the more I look at things, considering how Balinskis has played, I would almost rather do nothing and just roll with what we have unless someone becomes available that is a true difference maker.

So after last nights comeback & having a fever I got maybe 3 hours of sleep last night...I am moving the noon stream to 11am so that it will be mostly over by the time the UM game starts. We won't be streaming the Canes game as I do still have a fever and want to get some rest before tonight's Panther game.
