A common career question is, “How Can I Start Networking, Anyway?
Well, for that question, I want to try and help you.
Here’s one quick idea and a template you can use to help you make a networking list, or a list of professionals you may reach out to to build your network…
*Idea —
a.Think of the job title / function you want to be doing in the next 5 years.
b.Next, use LinkedIn’s search features to locate 2 or more profile of someone who is doing that specific job.
c.Then, use LinkedIn’s connection features to send them a connection request, and personalize your invite.*Template —
Your LinkedIn invite may say something like…
“… Hi, [[Mr. Or Ms. Last name of contact]]. I’d like to connect on LinkedIn, as I am [[current role]] in the [[field / industry]] field, and I would like to ask you a few questions on your career path or how you moved to where you are now. Hope to connect soon. Thanks. Sincerely, [[your name[[ … ”
