I'm working on a super cool video where 4 of my subscribers fight in a coding competition! Each contestant has to code an autonomus mars rover to fight the other contestants. Who will win? The video will take some more days to edit, but stay tuned because it will be epic!
Quiz time, what is wrong with this code? There are 3 things. Write in the comments! And there are also wrong answers, because if you focus on irrelevant things instead of fixing the important things, you still basically haven't fixed the problem. So look at what other people say after you respond to see if your response was actually an important thing, or if you just missed the important things by focusing on irrelevant details.
Some time ago, I released my Steam game, and I priced it quite high because I worked a ton on it, but that was quite a long time ago, and now I would like as many people to try it because I think the result is super cool. So I reduced the price to the minimum value Steam allowed me, like 1 dollar and a few cents. Have fun! store.steampowered.com/app/2310670/Midnight_Arrow/
Here is why I don't think AI will completely replace programmers. I was recently vibe-coding something, and I got a weird bug, but I was quickly able to describe it to the AI because I had personally seen it before. The geometry seemed to extend to infinity, and that looked to me like a clipping plane problem. I have seen it before while making a software renderer from scratch, and I instantly recognised what the problem was. Because of that, I was able to tell AI exactly where the problem was, and it was able to fix it. The models become better and better, and AI can catch bugs that humans can miss, but there are also bugs that AI struggles to fix on its own. At that point, only a programmer with deep experience can solve the problem. So even if most of the programming will be done with AI in the future, there will still be programmers with a lot of experience using it. So go and gain that experience by making projects! I was able to fix that bug because I had personally fixed it before myself. Just by reading about it in a book, you won't remember it; you need to make projects!
My OpenGL course for beginners hasn't been on sale for quite some time, so I think it's time for a nice 50% off.
If you want to place your first triangle on the screen but have some trouble, I made my course the smoothest introduction possible to graphics programming. I explain these beginner concepts in detail, and I also give you all the best free resources you need to continue learning after the course.
How many of you know OpenGL / started learning OpenGL / are planning to learn OpenGL very soon? I'm doing a cool thing that I won't reveal yet, but I'm super excited about 💪🔺
Have you made your first small C++ game yet? If not, I'll soon release a video where I cover super simple and short how-to make your first C++ game step by step, so that you can also start making cooler C++ projects 💪. Make sure you don't miss it!
It's been a month since I launched my gamedev for beginners course, and I'm super happy that the feedback was so good! Being able to help so many people do cool C++ projects is super nice! If you also want to make your first big C++ game, and learn from me how I structure my code, and other cool things, check this link for a discount!
