Happy 1 year anniversary mouthwashing!!! I just finished playing the new DLC (which to those who dont know are just old versions of MW), here's a few stuff I noticed in the demo of the full game for yall who can't play:

- The main menu has TVs stacked on each other for the start/settings/quit option

- Jimmy shoves the entire bottle of painkillers into Curly's throat (and the desc said smth about the fruit of eden, make of that as you will)

- The first scene you play as Curly, he takes everyone's psych evals. He doesnt get any because nobody gaf about him

- the party thrown was for Jimmy's birthday instead! They actually discuss it after Curly does his psych eval, and Jimmy didn't seem appreciative or happy. Common Jimmy L

- As Curly's cutting the cake, it switches up to Jimmy cutting Curly's leg. Ooh scary moment

- Jimmy was right outside the cockpit during the pregnancy reveal, and is very angry. Seemed like Jimmy alr knew but took some time to do anything. Also, did he know Anya hid the gun??

- Curly explicitly lets Anya keep the guna

- No news of anyone getting fired, not even during the bday. Seems like it was a late addition

- Jimmy offers Swansea the drink, and he's like "shuure :D" I think it even implies they were friendly at some point

- there were 5 cryopods in total. Seems like PE wasn't as neglectful lol

- Daisuke hit the Anya pose when she was stuck in medical. That was kinda funny

- the dialogue is funny as hell

Everyone's freaking out about Curly's name actually being Orion Carling, but I'm just loosing my mind about Anya's ID name was ANYA NONAME. ANYA. FUCKING. NONAME. BALAALSHAHJAAJ

note on Curly's name tho, I CANNOT take it seriously😭 Orion's like a 2020 name for me, which is too cool for that freaking loser (/pos) and Carling is legit my grandpa's name, so,,, I think I'm sticking to Grant Curly at the time being hahaje

(Headcanon that Curly got his nickname because he couldnt pronounce his last name as a kid😭😭)

Redraw of a frame from that birthday animatic... because lowkey this frame haunts me. Its SOOO ugly (megamind called he wants his head back) yet its held for a long time so your just staring at this chopped ass fucker for 20 seconds

Ngl the take that "Curly couldnt do anything because they're stuck in space for 8 months" is starting to make less sense because aint their voyage a 2 way trip or something? Its not said but it makes sense. They leave earth, deliver cargo at a destination (which I assume is some space colony), then go back to Earth. Not to mention they probably have to refuel their supplies multiple times in the middle of one trip. If Curly were to communicate to the company about their situation, they could probably arrange an emergency stop at the place of destination or at another place to detain Jimmy and give Anya medical attention. Its not like they had to wait the 8 months.

And since the trip is around a year long, a half of the trip could be 6 months long. By the time of the crash, they had about 4 months of elapsed time since they left earth, meaning 2 months to go until they reach their destination. And like I said, I'm sure Curly and PE could arrange something to deal with Anya's pregnancy (and PE can be hella neglectful when it comes to the well-being of their crew, but a crewmember birthing whole as baby in the middle of the haul is smth I think they'd definitely be worried about). If Jimmy proved himself dangerous enough, they could lock him up and replace with with another copilot.

Even if its a one-way trip (which I mean looking at the path to destination it might be true) that's even better for the crew I think. Since those kinds of trips make multiple stops to deliver cargo, they have many chances to deal with Jimmy and Anya.

Lol dont take my word for it I dont know much about the logistics of how fucking space freighter operates. I'm using cargo ships as a reference but even that I just read a couple articles on that stuff.

But also like... I love canon Curlya too not gonna lie. Not in the romanticized kinda way because those two have ISSSUESSSS but in the "doomed, tragic" kinda way. Because I physically can't get invested in a relationship of any kind unless something dysfunctional is going on

Before anyone starts yelling at me, yes, this whole thing kinda screws up the themes abt misogyny in the game. This is all for shits and giggles (and I wanted to draw masc Anya LEAVE ME ALONE). But I can still kinda make it work, I think. Alr let me cook guys.

First, Andy's assault isn't taken seriously bcuz of his maleness. Curly's mega guilty for this. She's obv sympathetic to Andy, they're close friends after all, but on top of her struggling to come to terms with Jenny's shittiness, and she doesn't wanna victim blame. She's jusy confused as hell as to how the whole thing even went down. Ik it makes her look worse cuz there's a level of victim blaming but idk. Same with Swansea, especially being a boomer lady.

Then there's Jenny herself, who changes the most dramatically lol. Like Jimmy, the patriarchy kinda fucks over her life. The internalized misogyny went HARD on her, its seriously so fucking confusing. She's not 100% traditional (she's in the workforce ffs) but doesn't like how "mannish" Curly is because of her position of authority (ugh probably slept with her boss or smth). There's also Andy, who she looks down on Andy for trying go pursue a "feminine" job and assumes he sucks at his job bcuz he's a man. Even assuming him being a creep and all. She also falls back on the whole "women can't be rapists" excuse.

Jenny's more resigned to her fate as being below somebody else, but something kinda ticked when the crash happened and Curly is incapacitated. Suddenly, she feels important, and LOOOVES it, so she takes charge of it. And then flops.

Also, Jenny's pregnant from the SA. Obviously she despises the brat. She's terrified of being roped into motherhood, and took out most of that anger on Andy, who she blames everything for this whole ordeal. Other than that tho idk what other ideas I have. Does that make sense? Idk help
