Hi, I’m Ethan Solace — an interdisciplinary psychologist, a dad, and the person behind The Big Questions series.
I write these books because I believe children deserve nonfiction that feels alive.
Not dry.
Not flat.
Not talked down to.
Not reduced to a worksheet.
Just real ideas, told with wonder, emotion, story, and respect.
The Big Questions: What Is Racing? is about much more than who comes first. It explores racing as speed, yes — but also courage, risk, resilience, trust, falling, rising, trying again, and the deeper race within us.
Horses. Engines. Boats. Runners. Cyclists. Nature. Formula 1. Injury. Hope.
All of it is part of the same question:
What are we really racing for?
There is no massive publisher behind these books. It is just me, building a growing library of thoughtful, cinematic, child-friendly nonfiction designed to help children meet the real world with curiosity instead of boredom.
Because children do not need smaller ideas.
They need big ideas made clear, beautiful, safe, and exciting enough to remember.
