PHILLY AND THE BRAIN - SLOW TRAVEL
Hey everyone! Thank you so much for your continued support and for all of your kind concerns we truly appreciate each and every one of you. đ
Weâve received a lot of questions about burning season in Chiang Mai, so we wanted to take a moment to explain what it is.
What is Burning Season?
Burning season in Chiang Mai and across much of Southeast Asia is an annual period when farmers burn their fields and crops as a way to clear land for the next agricultural cycle. This practice is common in countries like Thailand, Laos, Myanmar, and Vietnam. The burning clears leftover crops, weeds, and debris quickly and inexpensively, and the ash acts as a natural fertilizer for the soil. While it serves an important agricultural purpose, it produces a significant amount of smoke and haze that can heavily impact air quality in the region.
When Does It Occur?
In Chiang Mai specifically, burning season typically runs from February through April, with March often being the most intense month. During this period, the Air Quality Index (AQI) can reach levels that are considered unhealthy, particularly for those with respiratory conditions.
Plan Your Visit Accordingly
If youâre planning a trip to Chiang Mai or anywhere in Northern Thailand, we highly encourage you to research the air quality conditions for your travel dates and plan accordingly. Many travelers choose to visit between November and January to enjoy the cooler, clearer weather and the best air quality of the year.

PHILLY AND THE BRAIN - SLOW TRAVEL
The truth is, there will always be something you canât control.
There will always be another bill, another goal, another reason to wait.
But hereâs what Iâve learned:
Life isnât meant to be put on hold.
Want to take that vacation? Book it.
Want to move to a new city or even a different country? Go for it.
Want more out of life? Stop waiting for the âperfectâ time.
We were scared too⌠but we did it anyway.
Whatâs one thing youâve been putting off that youâre ready to chase now? Drop it in the comments đ

PHILLY AND THE BRAIN - SLOW TRAVEL
Most people think investing is just picking the right stock or fund. Itâs not.
True financial freedom starts long before you ever place a trade.
It begins with knowing why youâre investing your goal. It means calculating your financial freedom number, so you know exactly what youâre working toward. It means understanding your risk tolerance, so market swings donât push you into decisions youâll regret.
Thereâs also the practical side: how to balance a portfolio, how your money is protected, and how fees quietly erode your returns over time. Youâll need to understand payout schedules, and the critical difference between taxable and tax-advantaged accounts because where you hold your money matters just as much as what you hold.
Sounds like a lot? Itâs actually not when itâs broken down clearly.
Thatâs exactly why we created this ebook payhip.com/b/4TOBz. To cut through the noise and give you a real education in building wealth step by step, in plain language.

PHILLY AND THE BRAIN - SLOW TRAVEL
Our dream life is living in high-end suites within luxury hotels spaces so grand they feel like private penthouses. Mornings in exclusive lounges with unlimited gourmet food, endless fresh fruit displays, and perfectly brewed coffee. Personal yoga sessions, unlimited monthly spa treatments that include facials, saunas, massages, nails, and foot care. First-class flights on the worldâs top airlines, jetting off to a new country every three months, wherever my heart desires. Becoming fluent in at least three languages. And most importantly, coaching and mentoring others on how to create this same level of freedom and abundance for themselves.
This is exactly why we canât give up on our dreams.
Itâs why we stay authentic and true to ourselves not just in real life, but in everything we share online. Anyone can pretend to be rich or successful on social media, but real impact comes from how we show up, how we communicate, and how genuinely we educate and inspire others.
Thatâs why I refuse to give up. No matter whoâs watching the videos, who buys the e-books, who books the consulting services, or who supports the offerings, even if we only had one dollar to our name we keep going. We stay consistent. We protect the vision.
We simply cannot give up on our dreams.
Whatâs your dream life?

Chiang Mai, Thailand ¡ One Burner. One Pot. No Complaints.
How to Cook a Full Meal with One Pot & Zero Excuses
Living slow in Southeast Asia means you adapt. The kitchen here is a single burner and a whole lot of creativity. This is seasoned rice, caramelized mushrooms and onions, tofu cracklings, and a drizzle of crack sauce all from one pot, one after another. Hereâs exactly how it went.
PHASE 1 â THE RICE đ
1. Wash your rice thoroughly until the water runs clear.
2. Start your kettle bottled water only out here in Thailand.
3. In the pot: salt, pepper, garlic powder, butter, and a heaping teaspoon of chili garlic oil.
4. Pour in your boiling water right over those seasonings. Let it come to a full boil.
5. Dump in the rice, bring it down to a simmer, lid on. 20 minutes. Do NOT lift that lid not once. Lifted lids = mushy rice. Youâve been warned.
PHASE 2 â THE VEG đ
1. While the rice is doing its thing, slice your shiitake mushrooms thin and chop half a white onion.
2. Rice done? Dump it onto a big platter. Clean the pot.
3. Olive oil in the pot, onions and mushrooms down. Let them get some color.
4. Season with salt and pepper. Keep the heat at medium and donât rush it caramelization is where all the flavor lives. Brown = flavor.
5. Once theyâre golden and soft, add them to the platter with the rice.
PHASE 3 â THE STAR â¨
1. Clean the pot one more time. Fresh olive oil in.
2. Now â Southeast Asia has this incredible thing. Vegan pork cracklings made from tofu. If you know, you know. Put them in the pan.
3. Let one side get color, then flip and hit every surface. You want texture and golden edges.
4. Deglaze with a splash of soy sauce. Let it coat everything. Pull them off the heat.
5. Add them to the platter.
PHASE 4 â THE FINISH đĽ
1. Dress the whole plate with crack sauce and chili garlic oil.
2. Serve it to the spoiled brain.
3. One burner. One pot. Still ate.
Slow travel isnât about luxury itâs about learning to make something beautiful with what youâve got. The brain was spoiled regardless.

Growth isnât always pretty. đ
We started a third YouTube channel (Philly And The Brain Slow Travel) and after a couple months of momentum⌠it slowed down. And honestly? Thatâs okay.
Anyone building something knows this feeling. The slow weeks, the frustration, the moments where you wonder if itâs worth it. But every mistake, every plateau, every setback itâs all part of the process.
If I could push through 7 years of undergrad and grad school, then years building a career in IT, I can be patient enough to build this. And so can you.
Whatever youâre working toward right now donât stop. The reason itâs taking longer than expected might just be that life is still preparing you for it.
To everyone whoâs been rocking with us thank you. We truly canât do this without you. đ
And if youâre new here, come join the journey. The link is in our bio. đ
