MEXT Undergraduate Scholarship – Step-by-Step Document Preparation
Step 1: Check Official Circular
When the circular is published (usually April–May), read it carefully from:
www.bd.emb-japan.go.jp/
Step 2: Download Required Forms (from MEXT or Embassy site)
- Application Form
- Placement Preference Form
- Field of Study & Study Plan (Research Plan for postgrad)
- Health Certificate
- Certificate of Enrollment (if applicable)
Step 3: Prepare Academic Documents (Photocopy + Translation)
- SSC & HSC Certificate
- SSC & HSC Marksheet
- Certificate of enrollment (if you're still studying)
- Passport (if available)
Translate all Bangla documents to English by a certified translator and notarize if needed.
Step 4: Photographs
- 2–3 passport-size photos
- White background
- Write name & nationality on the back
Step 5: Medical Certificate
Use the MEXT-provided format
Get it filled out & signed by a registered doctor
Step 6: Recommendation Letter
Not always required for undergrad, but safe to include
From school/college head or teacher
Step 7: Language Proficiency (if available)
- IELTS / JLPT certificate (Not mandatory but helps)
Step 8: Organize Everything
Follow the checklist in the circular
Arrange in correct order
Submit in required number of sets (usually 3 copies)
Step 9: Submit to Ministry of Education (MoE)
Usually by post or direct drop (based on circular instruction)
