Meet the Spun Honey in Helium Technology designed by @dan__mann, a refined, high-performance groveler based on Dan’s popular Spitfire model. At its core, the Spun Honey is super user-friendly and has a giant sweet spot, the shape features a diamond tail for snappy pivots, added bite, and smooth release, and creates a responsive feel that thrives in punchy beach breaks and quick transitions.

The Spun Honey is a short, compact groveler with the wide point a touch towards the tail from center but further forward to the nose than the Sweet Potato, with a tapered diamond tail, based on @dan__mann’s popular Spitfire model. Underneath, the bottom contour is a pretty aggressive double concave set within a solid single concave, similar to the bottom of the Sweet Potato, with the double running further forward to the nose than most boards. This double concave bottom contour delivers speed, lift, and fluid rail-to-rail performance, benefits Dan learned from his @slaterdesigns S Boss and Boss Up shapes with a similar bottom. Dan’s included his famous step rail from the Spitfire, also featured on the Mashup, that allows him to hide a lot of volume in the center of the shape while maintaining bladey, knifey rails. In terms of where the Spun Honey fits in Dan’s range of shapes, it offers more performance than his Sweet Potato but less performance than his Dominator 2.0.

A familiar feel underfoot, closer to glass-ons. 🍯 🐝 @dan__mann

Meet the Spun Honey Fin Set designed by @dan__mann, crafted specifically for his all-new Spun Honey shape. Living firmly in the pivot world, the Spun Honey template is a fun and forgiving fin with a long base that has a raked tip, and most notably, doesn’t sit very deep in the water. The long base is designed to give you plenty of drive off the bottom part of the fin, with release and pivotability off the sacy tip. The tip isn’t very bulbous, it’s meant to be rakey like a performance fin. And because they sit shallower in the water, the long base sits right where all of the power is. The template has an 80/20 foil that’s super clean, no bumps or thick spots, with a clean taper that lets the water flow perfectly off the back of it. This fin set is constructed from a traditional fiberglass layup, offering a familiar and welcoming flex pattern underfoot, closer to glass-ons.
