Anyone else going for it?
No long-winded explanation or anything. I will go for my 2, because I like the car, and possibly someone else I know may want one who doesn't have an RLC membership.
Do I think this will sell out fast? No, not really. For one the car does have a lot of promise, but I do not see this car selling out ASAP. Two, it is a BMW and right now people aren't too excited for them. Three, I just do not see any type of hype over this car. I am not saying it won't sell out fast though. Launch days are to be treated like a feeding frenzy. The closer you are to being in the front of the line, the better.
I like the car, and I have a thing for 90s BMWs, so that is my main reason for going for it.

Well I did manage to snag one. Some speculation. Will it be worth it in the long run, or a quick flip?
This could go 50 investment territory, or 50 flop territory. So far it has sold on eBay for an average of 800 to 900. Not a great profit margin if you ask me. It could be worth more in hand instead of selling now.
The 80th anniversary rally set of the reproduction sweet 16, the first 16 cars designed by Harry Bradley and Mattel to kick off the hotwheels lineup. These cars are painted in spectra flame red, and the red is to symbolize the red Mattel logo. These cars in their original form are worth bank, especially if they are in great condition. Reproduction cars are worth a good chunk of change, and I think as a set they will bring in a good fortune. There are 4,120 of these sets made, which will increase their value depending on the number. Mattel and RLC are no strangers to limited runs. Now, depending on the casting, some limited numbered runs are worth more than others. Consider the 3 C's.
This set is worthwhile for collectors and hotwheels fans because of the cars. In the resellers second-hand market NOW, not so much. This is just the beginning of the value arc. I will be watching the price closely over a year. I think it will gain value over time. These cars are sought after, the set is numbered, and it commemorates a milestone for the brand. At the very least it will make a great addition to my collection, and I consider myself lucky to have bought one.
