A mad dash to get it done this week :) I filmed this last month, and semi-forgot that this video runs long, and so it took a little longer than I anticipated to edit!

O.M.G! I'm done with my papers for this semester (more like a quarter)! Woohoo! A few minor assignments and I wrap up my 2nd semester/quarter of graduate school! I'll be back with a video next week - my spiritual emergency in Kyoto video at the end of next week :) I'm off to take a breather after the 2 papers. I feel like as free as a bird at the moment. I will be sending out my monthly newsletter tomorrow and then taking off for a little birthday getaway as I celebrate entering my next decade! :D Truthfully I'm excited for what's to come; not at all worked up over the numbers. This is because in my mid 20s I've been telling my friend that I'm a 60 yr-old trapped in a 20 yr old body, so with each year, I feel like my exterior matches more with my interior :P

Attached are two photos from last week when I had 4 roses from my lavender rose bush, and my salad harvest. What I'm holding is a shiso leaf, it's in the mint family, great with pork cuisine, or cut up to add a bit of mint kick in your salad or drink.

The spooky vibe is for entertainment, but it is not to dismiss the real impacts of psychic attacks, negative intentions🧿, negative energy, negative entities😈, service-to-self behaviors, as well as the power of belief, which are important to talk about together. Hello Beautiful souls! How was the eclipse for those in areas where it is visible? How was the shift for you? In our unique Buddhist/Daoist/Folk Religion blend, yesterday was also the "opening of the gates" of lunar July, colloquially referred to as the Ghost Month or Month of Filial Piety or the month we show gratitude and respect to our ancestors, and practice exercising compassion to strangers and hungry ghosts. In Buddhism it is the Ullambana Festival or Sangha Day, where the Sangha community goes on retreat. And in Japan, it is Obon, also derived from the Yulanpen/Ullambana Sutra (Mahayana Sutra) where ancestors are honored, and families reunite.

In Taiwanese Buddho-Daoist Folklore religion, we also believe that the Gods and Deities are on vacation along with the Ghosts, so that's why we don't make major decisions, and 'retreat' like the Buddhist monks as well :)

I've discussed the Ghost Month before, but if there were topics you may be curious about in greater depths, please let me know and I can consider for the next batch

I had made plans to film tomorrow, but I woke up with a pink eye 😰 so hopefully I'll be back next week for a video! If you are curious to learn more, read on :)

Skyla: my loyal Lyran ally, but also probably the indirect culprit of my pink eye.

This is my dear rescue cat Skyla, adopted from the Pasadena Humane Society in 2009 when she was a wee kitten. The month after she came into my life, I started my business (skyla-arts.com), and I decided she would be my patron guardian for my business. Skyla means shield or scholar in Dutch (scholar from Dutch surname Schuyler, and the Swedish verb skyla, meaning to shield, hide or protect) While I waited for her to be old enough to bring home, I searched for names, and stopped at this one, as I looked into her photo on the adoption website, that called out to me.

Indeed, she is 17 yrs young now, and she has been my shield, my protector, my companion who walked with me through the Dark Nights of the Soul.

She is still in relatively good health, but due to the changes in her health, we moved a litterbox to our bedroom for her convenience. It took some convincing for my husband, but he came around. After all, Skyla contributed to our household immensely, as not only the patron guardian of "Skyla Arts" but as the energetic guardian of our home. She is always by my side, always waiting for me to come home by the window, waiting for us at the door, waking up with me, and sat on my lap as I did my makeup and got ready for work, even if it was 3am, 4am, 5am. She gets up when I get up. She bore the journeys of moving, from LA to Bay Area, from Bay Area to Tokyo, from Tokyo to Sapporo, even though she hated it. And while she's still not 100% happy about it, she accepted Lucio.

She taught me so much including pushed the boundaries of what I thought I knew about unconditional love.

It is not her fault she indirectly gave me pink eye; it is my fault for rubbing my eyes in my sleep area without washing my hands first. It is not the Skyla/Cat poop germs directly, but the increase of litter dust with dander that irritated my eyes, and I have dust and cat dander allergies, and an increase of it can increase the chances. It is also because as she is getting older, she is unable to groom herself to the same degree, and so there is an increase of dander/dust/possibly in my bedroom; and I have to reexamine how I handle all of this! Of course I wash my hands after handling the litterbox, but do I wash my hands everytime I hug and kiss Skyla and say good night before going to sleep? I have to going forward, an adjustment!

If you got to this part haha :) thanks for reading. This 2nd pink eye incident this year has gotten me to pause and reflect instead of 'push forward.' My instinct was to tolerate it and film anyways (this is where I find Mandarin and Japanese expresses the feeling better: 忍/我慢), but then I thought what kind of example am I setting if my general message is about finding "the middle way," balancing Being and Doing, if I'm pushing myself in Doing?

Also, for last month's newsletter, with inspiration from my Dragon Guides, I titled it "⚖️ The Eye of the Fire 🔥" and like 2 weeks later I have a pink eye so I find this unexpected synchronicity pretty hilarious!!! This was not the kind of Fire in my Eyes I was expecting! My newsletter which contains channeled messages, also talked about balancing Doing/Being, and made reference to "tiger eye" the gemstone, and here I am, my tiger eye is on fire (I'm a tiger in the Chinese Zodiac sign) so I find this all hilarious this morning! Gotta have a sense of humor, or how do we go on :)

I had planned to talk about Animal Starseeds in my next Office Hours already, but I suppose here is a little teaser :) :) :) :)

I'll be making all of these but it's a matter of which one will come out first. These are tentative titles but this will be my next batch of videos :)

For Office Hours, the current events I plan to discuss will include world cups, ariana grande, perez hilton, and answering questions I received about starseeds. I didn't watch either video but the sequence of events in regards to Loosh is worth discussing.

The three categories you need to check regarding Divine, Heavenly or Auspicious Timing according to Confucian philosopher Mencius (372-289 BCE) or 孟子,Mèngzǐ. In the video I kept switching between the two, but I made sure to put both in the subtitles!

As I finished up editing, I felt I should have introduce the softer word for Divine Timing as Auspicious Timing. Divine Timing may sound too serious, too dramatic or life or death! But rest assured, from major life milestones, to buisness/career, to personal decisions and spiritual rituals, the concept of choosing the optimal time have practical and modern applications beyond military/political strategy or what business people are really into (when to invest, when to sign contracts!)

For example, choosing wedding dates, birth dates (for c-sections), moving into a new one, or funerial/burial rites, to grand opening of businesses, when to sign contracts, when to launch a project, starting a new job, when to start a renovation or ideal time to travel. Down to when to get a haircut, or the mystical, the better time to perform a ritual, or times considered inauspicious.

It's about alignment with the heavenly timing to the earthly resources and the harmony of humans that are related to the particular event. I'm looking forward to hearing what you think :) :) :)
