Just recently watched Christopher Nolan’s 2005 reboot of Batman titled “Batman begins”

And man after finally seeing this movie especially that I did watched both Tim Burton’s Batman and Christopher Nolan’s Batman begins like back to back

I do gotta admit that i was more impressed with this movie than Tim Burton version, since this reboot version of the character is definitely a lot more interesting since it did explored Bruce Wayne’s past and journey to become the dark knight himself, I do enjoyed the storyline of a conspiracy of poisoning Gotham city especially that the villains themselves are alot more interesting and threatening especially that one of them used to be Bruce Wayne’s mentor and friend named “Ra's al Ghul” who trained him into becoming the dark knight that we all know and love was leading the conspiracy especially that I do find scarecrow to be an intimidating villain who was depicted as an allegory of trauma and fear, i do appreciate the characters and their dynamics especially that most of them are relatable and relevant to the plot like how commissioner Gordon was more active and helpful to Batman and being more like an active player than just a background character like Pat hingle’s version from the Burton films and I do find this relationship between Bruce wayne and Rachel to be an improvement over the Bruce Wayne and Vicki vale from the 1989 film and I gotta admit, as much as I love Micheal Keaton’s Batman and still do think that he’s a great Batman but I do think Christian bale’s performance as Batman is definitely intriguing since his gothic presence along with his voice felt very ominous and mysterious and does add up with Batman as a character along for his depiction as a gothic and supernatural character who haunts Gotham and it’s criminals

And I do appreciate the movie’s themes of revenge and trauma since it did explore Bruce Wayne’s character development from a traumatized child, to vengeful murderer and finally to become the dark knight himself who saves the lives of Gotham city and I do enjoyed the moral lesson of the film of confronting your fears and learning from your mistakes

Overall, Batman begins is easily considered one of the greatest Batman films ever made and I was more impressed with this movie a lot more than Tim Burton’s film especially that it has a very impressive and good story, the characters are easily relatable and likable and I do appreciate the movie’s themes of revenge and trauma along for its morals of confronting your fears and learning from your mistakes

Just recently rewatched Tim Burton’s 1989 iconic superhero movie “Batman”

And honestly, it’s still easily considered one of Tim Burton’s best movies along for being one of the greatest Batman films ever made definitely because I do appreciate that it incorporating a film noir vibe to Gotham city especially for incorporating some elements like mafias, conspiracies and espionages that felt like they came out of a suspenseful thriller With likes of the godfather or Chinatown and it just makes the film enjoyable because of thriller vibes incorporated into it

I do appreciate Micheal Keaton’s interpretation of Batman since his performance makes Batman a lot more relatable as a character since he depicted him as a complex character who has a spilt personality in either as Batman or Bruce Wayne since when Bruce is in his Batman form, he’s depicted as a lot more confident but when he’s a normal person, he’s depicted as an average person who was more insecured and conflicted and doesn’t know if he wants to live in a normal life or stay as the mystical figure who haunts Gotham city and it’s criminals

I do appreciate Jack Nicholson’s performance as the joker since he either makes the character terrifying and hilarious because of how he’s depicted as a sociopathic murderer who basically enjoys causing havoc and killing people for pleasure and does have a lot of hilarious moments that make me laugh my ass off and do admit that his grin is easily by far very nightmarish and horrifying because it makes this joker look like a demon from hell

And I do appreciate Pat hingle’s commissioner Gordon, Billy Dee Williams as Harvey dent and Micheal gough as Alfred since these characters are definitely well depicted and well written especially that it’s a shame that both commissioner Gordon and Harvey dent were completely ruined and wasted in the Joel Schumacher era by depicting them as comical douchebags especially that Its way more upsetting that we didint get the chance to see lando calrissian himself become the villain two face that we all know and love since he was having potential in this first installment only to get sidelined and treated like a comical buffoon by Tommy Lee Jones’s interpretation

And I do appreciate Danny elfman’s score since it does add up with the darker and dystopian vibe of this movie and makes Batman like a force to be reckoned with especially that it does give me nostalgia on playing the Lego Batman game on the IOS and android

And my final reason in why I do love this movie, it’s for its themes of revenge and trauma since the movie did a really good job of making Batman a very sympathetic character for it’s darker reveal that Jack Napier murdered his two parents and seeing Batman trying to kill his rival is very understandable since he was furious at Jack Napier for taking away the ones that he loved and it’s a very reasonable motivation in why he wanted to see the joker meet the same fate as he did to his parents and yeah I know that alot of people complained that Batman kills a lot of criminals in this movie but for me, I didint mind it since this is a darker depiction of Batman that takes no risks in making brutal decisions on what to do with his enemies who are about to take him down and even if he spared some enemies but there are at times that he has no other choice into killing them due to their brutal motivations and for being in a hurry at times especially that in the joker’s case, I didn’t mind that he kills him considering that the Joker deserves it for killing his two parents

And I do admit that I do have some new nitpicks while rewatching this movie and the main nitpick is the relationship between Vicki vale and Bruce Wayne since I don’t find their relationship very interesting especially that Vicki vale felt more like a plot device rather than an interesting character and her romance with Bruce Wayne felt a little forced and it’s problaby the main reason why I prefer the relationship between Batman and catwoman in the sequel “Batman returns” since either of these two characters have the same personalities of having conflicted and troubled life and have different personalities when they are in their true form or their normal form and it made their chemistry in the sequel a lot more believable and reletable

Overall, Batman is easily considered one of the greatest superhero movies ever made and by far one of the best Batman movies ever made for having its film noir and dystopian depiction of Gotham city, to the iconic performances of either Micheal Keaton and Jack Nicholson as their iconic roles as Batman and Joker and for its relatable themes of revenge and trauma

Just recently rewatched Stanley Kubrick’s iconic space adventure thriller titled “2001 a space odyssey”

And do admit after rewatching it, it’s still easily considered one of the most iconic movies of the 60s especially by far one of Kubrick’s iconic and best movies definitely because of how beautiful and revolutionary it feels, yeah sure star wars did capitalize on it’s revolutionary feel of being a space fantasy film but 2001 is definitely a whole another level due to for depicting space travel alot more realistic especially the fact that this movie came out before humanity went to the moon and considered that this movie managed to pull off these visual effects perfectly and makes us believe all of this was real, it’s kinda understanding why people during the time believe that the moon landing is nothing more than a conspiracy ruse by Stanley Kubrick

(despite the fact that we have already knew that it’s not the case nowadays and we did land on the moon)

What I do like about the movie is the lack of dialogue and soundtrack since these two aspects makes the film alot more watchable and interesting, sure it may seem boring and sluggish to some people but I didint mind it since it does add to the realistic feel of the movie especially that it does add up with the suspense and atmosphere and does truly give the film creepy vibes, sure it’s not a horror movie but does have some horror elements that felt like something out of Ridley Scott’s alien (except the fact that it’s an AI instead of an xenomorph) especially that it does give the film a hopeless vibe for making the characters trapped in a empty void and they could be trapped and isolated especially the fact that “nobody will hear them scream” (get it 😜😜😜😜)

The other aspect about the movie that I do appreciate is the themes of mankind’s ambition with technology considering that the monolith that was constantly present through the entire movie especially during the dawn of man segment, it gives the allusion that this mysterious monolith gives humanity a chance to take advantage of discovering new techniques of how to handle things easier and how that monolith lead to humanity upgrade themselves like during the transition in the future where humanity has finally taken advantage of technology and using them for personal pleasure and duties and what’s funny about this movie it’s due to the fact that it predicted the future of introducing an AI like HAL 9000 who can have personal thoughts and interact with you and what’s scary about this is that not only does humanity interact with an AI but also letting an AI do all of the work and control for them especially even spying on them and main reason why it was scary it’s because of the fact that as soon as if you disagree about something with an AI like HAL 9000, it can easily take it personally and murder you without mercy especially that since if we lead an AI controlling everything you own and if you disagree with it’s ideas, it will probably mess with your stuff and makes them act insane

And besides if talking and interact with an AI is one thing but letting an AI control everything you own and spy on you, that’s just kinda creepy if you ask me

Overall, 2001 a space odyssey is easily by far one of the most iconic films ever made especially for being an iconic movie of 60s along side Sergio Leone’s the good, the bad and the ugly

Due to the fact that it has a very revolutionary feel to it in terms of its realistic premise and beautiful visual effects that still hold up to this very day and how it does predicted our modern day times by incorporating elements that are still relevant to our modern day lives and it does have some good moments of atmosphere and tension and these aspects does add up with the realistic feel to the movie in general
