🦋From the shapes on butterfly wings to the wave lines (tread) on a tyre, patterns are everywhere!
Patterns are the attention to detail that elevates a simple drawing to a work of art!
Teaching children how to first recognise patterns, then form their own patterns will help them with early maths skills and encourage them to become more artistic in the process.
Seeing that they have the ability to make their own simple patterns can help them to notice the relationship between cause and effect and feel more confident to put pen to paper.
🔽🔽🔽 🍝Dinnertime discussion point: Look around the room. What patterns do you notice?
It was fun speaking with a long time friend and fellow homeschooler Samantha Amadiegwu of the YouTube channel @HomeEdAdventures
Together we discussed why I chose to home educate after spending years working within the education system.
Samantha herself has been home educating for a considerable number of years now and on her channel shares the key lessons she's learned along the way.
With a lack of representation of home education within the media, channels such as Home Ed Adventures are a valuable resource to both new and seasoned home educators alike.

I just want to say a warm WELCOME to those who have recently subscribed and a hearty HELLO to those who have been following this page for a while.
I noticed a boost in views for the reading of my children’s book Dana’s not-so-ordinary day.
I decided to re—upload the story without the intro song for a more streamlined experience.
I hope your little ones enjoy it and of course I hope you do too.
Thanks so much for your support 💛
