Hi, I am Karen. Welcome to my sanctuary where I explore Filipino cuisine with a focus on the unique flavours and stories behind the food of Capampangans (from Pampanga province and its peripheries - in the Philippines).
Join me as I try to take a closer look into the rich history and tradition of what we eat.
If you are looking to find out more about Filipino food, come and join me in this culinary journey. Let's enjoy learning together!

Today’s discovery: Using Lechon Kawali as the main topping.
Texture: 8/10
Sauce: Thinner than usual but rich & savoury
Verdict: Definitely heavier than your average pancit luglug, but the crunch is worth the calories.
How about you, which is your preference? Traditional tinapa or the "overloaded" lechon version? Let me know below! 👇

The "corn" reminds me of ningnang mais, a dessert made with eggs and sweet corn kernels shaped like a corn on the cob.

It's #WorldPastaDay but we're still reeling from the effects of the typhoon & I've no time to cook. However, to prove how versatile pasta is, here's something I make when pressed for time. Pasta, fresh milk, grated cheese, and dried oregano. Mix together & microwave! 💯

Many provinces in Luzon are affected. The rains may stop soon but the floods will stay for days, or even weeks to come. We'll definitely need assistance.
I'll post official/vetted donation posters, links, etc. on this thread.
