It's so cool when patrons, people who've been following me for a long time, decide to take the plunge and make their own whisky content.

Macca has been a long-term patron of First Phil Whisky. When I lived in Ōhope he wasn't far away, over in Whakatāne, and a tasting I hosted there was actually the first time we met in person.

Out of that we've now got a thriving little Whakatāne whisky group, and he's been one of the core members. I love that even in a small town like Whakatāne, new Zealand, a bunch of people who love whisky can get together, share some drams and hang out.

but what's super cool is he's now putting out his own videos!!

I've never been insecure about other people making whisky content (and hope I never will be!) or seen them as competition. A rising tide of great honest whisky vids lifts all boats, and I'm a huge fan of seeing more people having a crack at it..
