But perhaps it’s time we shine the same spotlight on something equally important: our Fundamental Duties.

Because a nation is not built only by what we demand from it, but also by what we give back to it.

1947: Life expectancy ~32 years, literacy rate ~12%, GDP ~$27 billion, limited infrastructure, and a fragile democracy in its infancy.

2025: Life expectancy ~70+, literacy rate ~77%+, GDP > $4 trillion, global IT powerhouse, space exploration successes, and a confident voice on the world stage.


Our journey from scarcity to self-reliance, from dependence to global influence, has been extraordinary. And yet, there’s more to achieve.

A few days ago, I came across a powerful image — HC Verma Sir, the legendary physics educator, quietly traveling in the Kanpur Metro. No entourage, no fanfare. Just a humble citizen making a conscious choice.

It struck me deeply.

Most of us don’t think twice before taking out our car or bike, even for short distances. Many celebrities, spiritual leaders, and public figures are often seen surrounded by layers of luxury — despite advocating for minimalism, sustainability, or patriotism.

And yet, here was a man who shaped the scientific foundation of millions of students across India — choosing public transport.

It reminded me of something I truly believe:

> A person’s real standard is not defined by what they possess, but by how they think.

Thinking is a Continuous Process — Work on It Daily

As professionals, we often focus on upgrading our skills, tools, and status. But how often do we upgrade our mindset?

True leaders are those who:

Choose what’s right over what’s convenient.

Take decisions keeping environment and nation in mind.

Believe in leading by example, not by showing off.


It’s easy to talk about sustainability.
It’s harder to live it when no one’s watching.
