We are back in business!
I'm planning two more videos this year: tomorrow, I'm exploring my biggest book disappointments this year; books that did not hit the spot. Next week, we go out with a bang with my top 10 favorite books I read this year.
After that, all that's left is to wish you a merry time, all the best and we'll see each other again next year!

Due to technical difficulties, for the first time in two years, there won't be a video tomorrow. Maybe I can get it out later this week, but I'm not counting on it tbh. Terribly sorry!

Mya's whiskers twitched in the cold morning air, as she tried to pick up the different scents coming from the inside through an open window. The humans had been busy: not only had they been putting up dead fir branches and frilly paper ornaments, but they suddenly seemed to had developed a fondness of the three same colors: red, white, blue. If only pine trees had come in these three colors, the humans would have been very happy indeed.
Now, Mya couldn't care less about pine, unless it housed some birds, nor was she particularly inclined to have a favorite color, let alone three. What did caught her attention though were the delicious aromas of mince pies, slow-roasting chickens and coronation bakes.
Now to call a cat a thief was a gross overstatement. After all, cats have no sense of ownership and since most things can only keep their attention for about several minutes, they had a natural sharing nature. This is why what is yours, is theirs, by default, and you should never call a cat a thief.
With a single, athletic jump, Mya now balanced on the window sill, peering inside. The humans had indeed been busy and the kitchen was in absolute disarray...

Mya swatted her little paw to get rid of the water in a series of motions that could only be called dramatic. She stretched, dug her claws into the soil and allowed the moment to linger, the weak morning sun barely warming her.
Mya had soon learned that humans equalled food and since her stomach had been grumpily mumbling all night, she took off with a little jump towards the small, circling plume of smoke that drew a line across the crisp, blue morning air.
The house on the hill was the first house of the village, or the last, depending on which way you were going. It was an old house, a house that told stories, if you only took your time to stop and listen. It had been known as the Red House once, but the red, both on its' walls and in its' name had all but faded. Nowadays, it was just the house on the hill.
Mya ducked under the fencing and walked into the garden, paws pulled up high with each step, to avoid the wet grass.
Things were different this morning...The humans had been busy:

Mya groaned as she turned, not yet fully committed to the early hour, not quite appreciative yet of the dawn chorus. She slept rough...in fact, she was convinced a rock had been poking her ribs all through the night, but such was to be expected of this place. She lazily stretched, mentally taking not of every knot and bruise that had formed overnight. Fog slowly rolled in from the pastures and fields nearby, mimicking the cotton ball fuzzy feeling in her brain.
Yeah...she was not a morning person.
She looked back at herself in the reflection of the water, pondering how thorough she should wash this morning. She had made up her mind already, but the reflection frowned at her in disapproval. Petty, but not without some glee, she poked her mirror image, distorting it as the water rippled under her touch. One could only take so much disapproval this early in the day.
She would have enough of that later on, as she encountered others. But for now, she was alone, which was not entirely unexpected, since...
