CS OPARANYA ENGAGES THE KENYA PRO-AGEING ORGANIZATION LEADERSHIP
Hon. Lucy Mworia , CEO of the Kenya Pro-Ageing Organization paid a courtesy call to Cooperatives Cabinet Secretary Hon. Wycliffe Oparanya today in his office.
The courtesy call marked a critical point in fostering collaborations in addressing elderly related needs within the Cooperatives and MSMES sectors in Kenya. Hon. Lucy informed the CS on increasing numbers of elderly individuals in Kenya and the need for government to come up with comprehensive strategies for timely support on their welfare focusing on social inclusion, access to healthcare, and economic support.
The CS on his part acknowledged that issues of elderly persons are of great concern to the government drawing on his past experiences in public service as the Governor of Kakamega County , hence committing to engage stakeholders so as to develop inclusive and supportive policies that prioritize the well-being of older persons in line with his ministry's key priority areas.
