If you’ve been following our story, you know that our family of four reached FIRE (financial independence retire early) in August 2019. That’s right - at the age of 39, we retired early and moved to Lisbon, Portugal!
When we started pursuing FIRE, the movement was relatively small and not many people knew about it. But through our Channel, we’re hoping more people learn about FIRE! In our videos we share ways to make money, save money, and invest money - to inspire you to pursue financial independence.

Dropping our oldest off at college 🥹❤️. One of the happiest and hardest days of our lives. It’s been less than 48 hours, and we still can’t believe it. This month marks six years since we packed up our lives in America and moved to Portugal—and what a journey it’s been.
We started just like many people moving here do… renting our first place while figuring out life in a new country. But one step led to another:
• We bought our primary home
• Then an investment property
• Then another… and another.
Four homes later, we’ve built a real estate portfolio that now covers all of our living expenses in Portugal. That means we’re truly living the dream just on our real estate portfolio —financial independence and early retirement!
Sometimes, you have to leave America to truly find opportunity and growth. For us, that meant discovering a better quality of life and much better investment opportunities than we ever had back in the States.
If you’ve been dreaming about making the move, know this: it’s not just a vacation fantasy. With the right plan, patience, and persistence, it’s absolutely possible to build the life you want abroad.
