Welcome!! This is my channel, I upload gaming videos and maybe a meme here and there.

I recently started doing some Rain World series and I'm hoping it turns out well.

If you don't follow PC hardware news, Nvidia's RTX 5090 is expected to release by the end of this year. And with it, you can expect all the features that Nvidia has been including with their GPUs the past few generations.

Personally I'm excited for the new DLSS 4.0 feature that they'll use as an excuse to not have marginal generational or class performance increases. For example, the RTX 3070 had about a 50% performance increase over the RTX 2070 in standard rendering, while the RTX 4070 had about a 30% performance increase over the RTX 3070 in standard rendering. With DLSS Frame Interpolation on the RTX 4070 has about a 50% performance increase over the RTX 3070 (which doesn't have frame interpolation, and also the feature is shit.)

Another feature I'm excited for is all the 70 class cards having 12GBs of VRAM (the standard for 1440p gaming) and all the 60 class cards and below having 8GBs (the standard for 1080p gaming.) That's right folks, you won't even be able to use the full extent of these GPUs at higher resolutions because of VRAM bottlenecking. Unless- you pay for their ti or SUPER models! Whichever one means more VRAM next generation — because god knows their ti and SUPER naming schemes aren't consistent — will only come at a $200 up-charge!

None of this is set in stone, but make sure to wait for reviews to come out before purchasing, and keep in mind the VRAM. I'm not saying AMD cards are much better, they have their own problems, just educate yourself before you buy PC hardware. The GPU market is dominated by Nvidia, and AMD isn't all that much of an alternative. In the CPU market you have stuff like Intels 13th and 14th generation CPUs all having an issue that caused them burn out, and it was only fixed last August. AMDs CPUs often have their own issues, to my memory their 3D cache CPUs around 2022 were underperforming a ton because of poor driver design. All we can do to protest is to make educated purchases of the few options we have, or to wait out the generation in protest.

For VRAM I'm no expert, but here's some of my recommendations for future proofing:
4K:
Minimum - 14GBs of VRAM
Recommended 18GBs of VRAM
1440p:
Minimum - 12GBs of VRAM
Recommended - 16GBs of VRAM
1080p:
Minimum - 8GBs of VRAM
Recommended - 10GBs of VRAM

In case you don't know why VRAM is important, it's a really fast memory cache used by your GPU to store any relevant game assets (think models or textures.) One of the biggest things taking up space in the VRAM while playing games are the textures. As the resolution being played at goes up, so does the need for higher quality textures. Switching between different resolutions has little effect when all of the textures are still the same. The cost of higher quality textures and models is VRAM, and they take up exponentially more space as they get better. Other large contributors to VRAM usage are optional feature like: *ray tracing* costing between 1GB and 4GBs and *frame interpolation* costing between 0.1GBs and 3GBs.

One last thing to keep in mind, if you plan on having a PC VR setup. You'll want more VRAM for VR because you'll be seeing textures right in front of you, and I guarantee you'll see the pixels on those textures. So unless the game is stylized, you want textures as good as you can get them. Do your own research on this because VRAM usage varies a lot depending on the pixel density/field of view for each headset. The quality of headsets just keeps going up as hardware gets better, so this could all change extremely fast, especially for high end headsets. My incredibly uneducated recommendations are:
Absolute (penny pincher) Minimum: 8GBs of VRAM.
(budget) Minimum: 12GBs of VRAM
Recommended: 18GBs of VRAM
Future Proofing: 32GBs of VRAM

I've been doing art a lot more recently, and I was working on this bird as a project. I don't usually draw using the full page, so I decided to challenge myself. All in all, I think this one is done! Took a long time, a lot of patience, and a bit of panicking, but I got here in the end! Hope you all enjoy the finished piece!

So I've been drawing a lot of birds lately, so this will be the last one for a while. Someone pointed out the the close wing is a bit small, so I used a blending stick to smudge out rough shapes and extend the wing. Looks bad right now but it will be cleaned up next week.

So I've been doing art, and I thought I'd share it for anyone who wants to see!

Too bad I can't fit the full images, oh well!

If you got the chance to ask questions of a mod team for Rain World, what would you ask them? What types of things do you want to learn about? (Maybe you'll see answers in a future video)

This is comical 👌

I've been doing a lot of research into computers recently and I think this video sums up the state of CPUs pretty well. Everything said here is also pretty applicable to GPUs. If you haven't done this before I highly recommend trying the preset "eco mode" in your BIOS.
