Respected GATE Authority, This is to bring to your kind attention the suspected irregularities in the conduct of the GATE 2026 exam that have to come to light through the media reports covering instances of unfair means or cheating on a widespread level at various centres across India using electronic devices like mobiles, Bluetooth devices, etc. in the exam hall as well as AI due to compromise of security check in those exam centres. The suspicion has been further strengthened by the *unusual trend of toppers (AIR 1-20) of almost all the branches not disclosing their names or marks in public*. Also, the *GATE Scorecard, cutoff marks and list of AIR 1 candidates with their marks are yet to be published on the GATE 2026 website*. Hence, *the credibility about the fair and transparent conduct of the GATE 2026 is under question.* Thus, to reinstate the faith of genuine candidates who really prepared hard and appeared for the exam that no injustice happened with them because of breach/compromise in security checks at any exam centre resulting in cheating/scam/unfair means, you are kindly requested to ensure that the GATE 2026 exam was conducted in a fair and transparent manner as in other previous years by carrying out a detailed investigation in this matter by taking the following steps or measures and then publishing the data on your website, social media and mainstream media:-* *1) Checking of the exam centres of the toppers as it is suspected that cheating/scam has been carried out by groups in a coordinated and well-planned way at various centres in different places.* *2) Scrutiny of the CCTV/video footages of the exam centres mentioned above in point 1 where security is suspected to have been compromised.* *3) Thorough check of the scribble pad of the toppers (AIR 1-100 at least) of each branch as most of them are suspected to be cheaters/scammers who have not dared to make their glorious results public yet* *4) Analytics of the time allotted per question by toppers (AIR 1-100 at least) of each branch by getting the data from TCS.* It is also requested to *tighten the security measures during entry at the exam centres henceforth to help prevent these incidences of unfair means/cheating/scam on such a widespread level in GATE exam.* Looking forward to your response. *Your prompt action with regard to carrying out the investigation or probe into the allegations of potential irregularities in the exam such as cheating/scam/unfair means on a widespread scale, then publishing the findings and also taking suitable action such as publishing the GATE results afresh after disqualifying/debarring those candidates proved guilty of applying unfair means/cheating or reconducting the GATE 2026 exam*, is highly solicited in order to *ensure the transparency in the conduct of GATE 2026 and also uphold the integrity of GATE as a prestigious all India exam* conducted by the GATE NCB (National Coordination Board) consisting of the top 7 IITs and IISc, headed by the organizing institute which was IIT Guwahati for GATE 2026.
