Apologies for the delay on this, my plan was to record a video for the JACKPOT QnA but I just could not find the time. So just gonna bite the bullet and do a written post answering all your questions!


Q: Will there be a JACKPOT sequel / What are your upcoming projects?

A: I will say that there will be sequels (yes plural) to JACKPOT, but not for a long while. My next big project is in the writing stages right now and will be on Signalis! It is going to be a lot more ambitious than JACKPOT, better animation quality and a lot more voice acting. But in the mean time I have been working on ULTRAKILL related projects with other animators such as ‪@Gloobium‬, so stay tuned for those! :D



Q: What software do you use?

A: Clip Studio Paint EX & Adobe Premiere Pro



Q: What was it like working on the voice acting

A: Really fun! I love allowing my friends to go crazy and show off their talents in my projects. I will continue to do so in my future endeavours.



Q: What are your hours on ULTRAKILL and what was your main motivation for JACKPOT?

A: As for my UK hours, they aren't much, only 40 hours. I P Ranked Prelude and some of Limbo on Standard 3 years ago but I've fallen off heavy lmao. I play the new content but I am not good at the game/ Despite that I am veeery much still invested in the story, lore and everything else. As for my motivation for the film. I was so inspired by the P-2 end terminal revealing the true purpose of the terminals and finding it so fascinating, and that nobody else had done any fan content about it. So I took it into my own hands. I want to always makes something about a topic nobody has given much attention.



Q: Could you please talk a little about your interpretation and characterisation of V1?

A: Oh gladly. So my version of V1 is not an emotionless war machine, in-fact it is very emotional. (Btw for JACKPOT I use it/its for V1 and he/him for V2). V1 is able to think and have emotions, but it's stunted. Because it was built during the Great War it was not given anything to communicate or express itself. It's mind is also fairly limited. I compare this V1's mental capacity to that of a young teen, prone to emotional outbursts. Then V2 was built during the New Peace for security, where it would be interacting with humans on a regular basis, so they gave him a voice, expressive elements on his eye and a fleshed out personality. When V1 sees V2 for the first time it is furious, seeing this reflection of itself having what it doesn't, and using his gifts to be egotistical and arrogant. It infuriates V1, it's jealous. That's why at the end V1 throws down its pistol and just starts beating him with its hands in pure rage. I will say that V1's mind, past and relationship to V2 will be explored more whenever the sequels happen. I have a lot of very cool plans. :p



Q: Why was Terminal 1 so glitchy?



A: This idea actually came from the person who helped with the voice audio effects, ⁨‪@Cognitolizard‬ . The Terminals mentioned self-destructing, Terminal 1 in the past attempted to do so but it failed, resulting in his processes being broken and glitchy.



Q: In the beginning two of the terminals talked about self-destructing, how would that have worked?

A: I'd imagine they overloaded their systems and capacitors so much to the point they violently rupture and incinerate their electrics.



Q: What did you think of the Fraud layer?

A: Oh my god it is amazing. I had originally not planned on any JACKPOT sequels but after it released I got so many ideas for them. Though you will have to probably wait toll ULTRAKILL is fully released to see them lmao. But yes I absolutely loved it and it was VERY much worth the long wait for it.



Q: “What does it think? What does it want?” - This question, is there a specific answer you were going for when presenting V1, especially with its brutal execution of V2?

A: Already touched on what it's thinking/feeling, but what does it want? It's pretty simple. It just wants to live, it doesn't want to die. It's scared.



Q: What's your favourite part of the process?

A: Even though I am primarily an artist, for me it's the writing. The process for JACKPOT was very tumultuous and disorganised, but putting together and figuring out the storyline and themes I wanted to tackle with the film were so much fun. It is why for my Signalis film I am taking more time with the writing process to be better prepared while also making sure it is high quality.



Q: Smash or Pass 1 character in ULTRAKILL.

A: Mindflayer, easy.



Q: Did they kill V2's VA for this?

A: No but I did rip off their arm. Don't worry though it grew back.



Q: Why is V2 blue?

A: HE'S NOT! You're interpreting him that way because of the gold lighting on neutral grey, it's basic colour theory. Use the context of literally the entire film's colour palette. EVERYTHING IS GREYSCALE EXCEPT GOLD GRAHHHHHH!

In celebration of 512 day, thought I'd reveal the progress on my WIP Signalis short film!



The first draft of the screenplay is currently 34 pages with 9000+ words, and its only halfway done



This will be my most ambitious project ever, can't wait to tell you more <3

This is insane.

When I finally finished and published this animation, I hoped it would at least get a few hundred views if I was lucky, as long as some people liked it. But it has absolutely blown up WAY beyond my expectations, so much I have no idea what to think haha.

Thank you guys so SO much, the amount of support is insane and makes me want to do more things like it in the future. As I promised I will do a Cut Content video, will try and get that out ASAP.

I have started working on my next project, it is not on ULTRAKILL. It will be for SIGNALIS, which if you haven't played it, HIGHLY recommend, but I hope youse stick around to see it.
