Hello dear viewers, the channel is at a crossroads and I need your help.

There have emerged two trends very clearly regarding the topics of the videos.

- One is more general, based on current affairs, focuses on entertainment, has a mass appeal and a significant reach. Example being the recent video about North Korean POWs.

-The other is more niche, topics that interest only a small segment of Youtube population, think healthcare in the Soviet Union.

Now for the mass appeal topics, they are more viable from a financial perspective, but I feel they don't create deeper relationships with the audience.

The Niche topics however, have less reach, less financial benefit, but they do cultivate deeper relationship with the audience.

Now I don't want to abandon either of these, these both are valuable niches that I have found after years and years of trying. But the financial aspect of it makes it very challenging. For example I do get a lot of suggestions from viewers regarding niche topics that I know won't have any incentive for me other than a deeper appreciation from the audience.

The best way to deal with it, that I can think of is either Youtube memberships or Patreon. Once we reach enough members it will help with the creation of niche topics for everyone and then the mass-appeal topic engine can work on its own.

Anybody who has created even a smallest piece of content knows that it is very very difficult thing to do. The amount of effort and commitment it takes, especially when you don't know if it works or not is just too much. One has to be a little crazy, a little stupid and very much delusional.

But thankfully I am all of the above, because I love Youtube.
That and the appreciation from the audience is what keeps this going.
