Found this at a thrift market in Tallinn.
It’s a Soviet-era trade union membership card from the Estonian SSR, issued in 1986.
Everything inside is printed in both Estonian and Russian, with the original photo, stamps and handwritten details still intact.
Not particularly valuable, but a fascinating little piece of everyday Soviet Estonia.

Neither being born,
nor studying,
nor working,
nor getting married,
nor getting sick,
nor hiding,
is no good without a piece of paper!
The most important thing in life is a piece of paper,
take care of it forever.
Without a piece of paper, you're a bug,
but with a piece of paper, you're a man!

Above lyrics from "Pesenka Byurokrata" (The Little Song of the Bureaucrat).
If you haven't yet then check out the oldie I made on Soviet bureaucracy.
