Hope everyone is enjoying the freezing cold weather! Just another quick update on my channel. For the coming months, I will be releasing new videos every 2 or 3 weeks depending whether my situation changes. These are videos I made months ago, so hope everyone doesn't mind.

In the meantime, I wanted to announce that today, I will be posting a video I made 2 weeks after my losing my job. It's a video that I partnered with the Museum of Chinese in America in New York City. They invited me to sit in on a presentation so check it out. It will be released at 3 p.m. today, February 9, 2026.

Thanks to everyone for their kind comments. I'm working hard to find another job to be able to fund the channel, so hopefully something turns up soon! Stay warm everyone and you are all truly wonderful!

Minute Review Show

Hey everyone, I wanted to share a quick update with the Minute Review Show community.

I was recently laid off from my day job, and because of that I’ll need to dramatically slow down the pace of new uploads for a little while as I get things stabilized and figure out next steps.

This show means a lot to me, and I’m definitely not going anywhere — it’s just a pause and a slower rhythm for now. I really appreciate all of you who watch, comment, and support the channel, and I’m incredibly grateful for your patience during this period.

I’m looking forward to coming back stronger and getting back to regular reviews when things settle. Thanks for sticking with me — I’ll see you soon. 🙏

I was at the Tangram Mall in Flushing Queens NY over the weekend. This is where I tried my first Tang Hu Lu at shop called Crave Pop. Tang Hu Lu is fruit dipped in a crackly sugar coating. Although unhealthy. it was great. The fruit was fresh and the sugar was delightfully crispy. Me - BAD!

Yesterday, we made a trip to the Golden Mall, the famous mall in Flushing Queens that Anthony Bourdain visited over a decade ago. This mall birthed Xi'an Famous Foods. For those who know, the Golden Mall has been modernized and now several chains are now occupying the formely gritty mall. Yozi 游子老鸭粉丝馆, is one of those chains. It serves Shanghainese foods. We got a great deal. Each of the dishes below are $6.50. There are still many affordable places to eat in Flushing's Chinatown. If you seek them out, you will find them. The fried dumplings and soup dumplings were both a solid 7 out of 10 stars!

I finally found roast goose in Flushing’s Chinatown this afternoon. Although I didn’t try it, I was glad to finally see an establishment offer it. I found it at King’s Kitchen, 40-12 Main St. Flushing New York.

In August 2025, the large version of this cost $6.99 at Jmart and even at Hmart in New York. Yesterday I bought it for $9.99. Guessing supermarkets are no longer eating the tariffs.

I just ate the strangest McDonald's holiday themed food, the "holiday pie". It tasted like a sugar cookie stuffed with poor quality custard. My curiosity wasn't rewarded but I'm curious by nature so had to try! If you like that sort of combination, give it a try!
