Every sentence isn't a question.. I'm just a scouser.

Welcome to the PSX Index. I’m Parasine, and this is a deep-dive archive of the PlayStation era and the history of game design. We don’t just play games; we deconstruct their atmosphere, philosophy, and legacy.

What should I document next? (Vote below)

At the beginning of this year, the plan wasn’t to make a full Resident Evil retrospective.

The idea was actually much smaller.

Because of Resident Evil Requiem being released, I planned to revisit the PlayStation era of the series through the PSX Index, the original trilogy, Survivor, and line those videos up around all the excitement for the new release.

That was supposed to be it.

But something happened I genuinely didn’t expect.

Those videos started performing really well at a point where this channel was still brand new.

And more importantly… I remembered how much I love this franchise.

So instead of stopping at Survivor, I carried on and made it a side series.

What started with opening those heavy Spencer Mansion doors at 6 years old somehow turned into revisiting almost my entire history with Resident Evil at 36.

Original releases.
Spin-offs.
Remakes.
The weird experiments.
The highs and lows.
Right through the timeline!

And now somehow…

Operation Raccoon City is rendering.
Resident Evil 6 is mid-capture.
And I’ve realised I’m already approaching the RE Engine era.

Resident Evil will probably always be something I come back to whenever new games release.

But it’s made me think about what comes after.

The PSX Index isn’t going anywhere, there are still 1,278 North American PlayStation games to document, but I’ve really enjoyed running a bigger retrospective series alongside it.

So once Resident Evil reaches the current day…

Where should we go next?

⬜ Metal Gear Solid Retrospective

A quick note on the PSX Index look going forward.

As the channel approaches its first milestone (thank you for that), I’ve taken a step back and looked at what this project has become.

When I started the PSX Index, I was experimenting. I wasn’t sure if this channel would lean toward streaming, let’s plays, or essays. I just knew I wanted to take on the challenge of experiencing all 1,278 North American PS1 games.

Along the way, something clicked.

The PSX Index isn’t about hype or reactions. it’s about reflection, history, and endurance. Video essays are where this project feels most honest, and the presentation should match that.

So I’ve updated the thumbnail style and titles to be calmer, more archival, and more in line with what these videos actually are.

The challenge hasn’t changed.
The schedule hasn’t changed.
The Index continues.

Thanks to everyone who’s been here early. your support helped shape this direction.

Next entry drops tonight at 6:30pm GMT:
The Bizarre Bundle — five of the strangest PS1 games ever released.

See you in the archive.

Entry 0018 is taking shape.

Silent Hill isn't just a game; it’s a permanent part of my psyche. Before the deep dive drops, I want to know: Which of these caused the most "physical" fear the first time you played?
