In preparation for my upcoming film 'His Warm Hands' I need to learn to paint to a decent standard. So, over the past week, I have been painting a frame from a queer film* that I recommend each day to try to improve.
*Except 'The Holdovers' which was just for Christmas.
If you want to see why I need to do this, the first episode of a BTS series was released last week on my YouTube Channel, so check that out, there will be another update soon!
This was my first time using both watercolour and gouache for portraits, although I do have a tiny bit of experience with watercolour landscapes. It is safe to say that I took to watercolour much easier than gouache, but I will still try to improve in both.
If you want to follow my journey to getting better at painting in real-time, I have been posting short videos on TikTok, Instagram and YouTube for each painting.

The First Week Of Learning To Paint 🎨
