I awoke from the sound of my alarm thinking I was late taking my daughter to school…only to realize it was a dream😏. As I recalled that today is in fact Sunday, I remembered it’s my favorite day of the year!❤️
These three kids of mine always go above and beyond to celebrate me on this day. Although I am notorious for hating surprises I love theirs’…even when it involves me getting pranked. On Mother’s Day though, I simultaneously take the time to reflect on how much they mean to me.
I still remember the moments that each of them were placed in my arms for the first time. They were all scrumptious, chubby cheeked, happy lavender babies. I consider what our journey has looked like as a family, the places and situations that we have grown through. I consider how they have always been my biggest cheerleaders. They thought it was so cool that I went to college and even cooler when they got to visit me at work. I think about all the times that I wondered if I was enough as a parent, if I knew all the things that I needed and wanted to teach them. And then I pause to remember the profound words and actions that they have shared with me over the years, real love at its finest❤️❤️❤️
As these three are now approaching 20, 17 and 15 the thought that occurs most often is…WE did it! While I cherish the sweet moments of their childhood cuteness I now get to relish in the moments of watching them reach towards and accomplish their dreams. I get to be their biggest (and loudest 😂) cheerleader to encourage and remind them to continue reaching for the stars!
I couldn’t have asked for better kids and I while I am grateful for them everyday, I am especially grateful TODAY that I had the opportunity to be their mother. As many lessons as I hoped to teach them, they have taught me many, many, many more🥹🙌🏽❤️ #happy#mothersday#kids#life#love#peace#growth
In the blink of an eye my middle child just turned 17?!
Over the last week I’ve been thinking of how much he’s changed, grown and overcome. From the scrawny kid who struggled with racial bullying to the now unshakable young man that navigates life with ease. It has been nothing short of amazing to watch him grow into his own and dominate in everything he does. He is calm, self-assured, focused, hilarious, and ridiculously intelligent.
I used to joke that he was sandwiched in between two Libras that drew him out of his shell. Over the years I’ve learned that this self-directed (read stubborn) Taurus is really the glue between the three of them. He might talk a little ish, pretend to throw 💩 at his sister or constantly fight me about getting a hair cut but he has a heart of gold and deep love for his family.
We had an extra reason to celebrate as his ACT scores came in and simultaneously received outreach from his top school choice. He’s been hard at work tackling AP tests and has his sights set on a career in Electrical Engineering. I have no idea if this kid has any limits but I know that he intends to challenge himself to find out❤️
Over the last several months I’ve made a concerted effort to not get on the scale.
Instead of allowing a number to gauge the progress toward my goals, I’ve been channeling my energy in a more positive way. I am focused on building a routine of consistent habits and focusing on body composition.
On days when I wake up with a less than stellar mood or body perception…I challenge it by indulging in self-cares and snapping a photo or two.
Normally I’d avoid fitted clothes during shark week but I decided to throw that thinking out the window. Grabbed my favorite shoes, bag and here we are 😎🙌🏽🩸 #health#happiness#women#muscle#coach#adidas

Over the last few years I have focused on getting up earlier and slowing down to enjoy a solid morning routine. With more time there’s no fussing and fighting as I get these kids out the door, we all have a great day.
Having a “real” breakfast has made a huge difference for me. What are some things you do?
Y’all, I fell in love with the taxi cab bag charm from Coach. I finally got my hands on it only to find that it was made of lightweight plastic 😣 Needless to say it stayed at the store.
I’ve been working to put together some of my own New York inspired bag charms and came across this cutie on Poshmark. The seller even cut the price to $6 (before shipping)!
