The Indian women’s cricket team did not collect the winners’ trophy after defeating Sri Lanka in the ACC Women’s T20 Asia Cup 2026 final in Dubai on Sunday. The players and coaching staff returned to the dressing room without receiving the trophy from ACC President Mohsin Naqvi, while they later accepted their individual medals and awards. According to ACC sources, the trophy remained available for the Indian team. This mirrored the men’s team’s refusal to accept the trophy from Naqvi after winning the Asia Cup final against Pakistan in 2025.

Mohammad Ali’s no-ball problems continued to haunt Pakistan on Day 4 of the third Test at Edgbaston. The seamer overstepped for the 18th time in the series, denying his side a massive wicket when Joe Root dragged the ball onto his stumps.

Root, who thought he was dismissed, was given a lifeline as the umpire called no-ball. The incident added to Pakistan’s frustration in a match where discipline with the front foot has been a recurring issue for Ali throughout the England series.

Former England captain Nasser Hussain has raised concerns about Saim Ayub’s inclusion in Pakistan’s Test series against England. Speaking on Sky Sports, Nasser Hussain questioned the decision to bring Saim Ayub into challenging English conditions after his time in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL).

Nasser Hussain said, “The truth is, he shouldn’t be here. He came from the CPL and hasn’t played first-class cricket in some time. I don’t know who thinks it’s the right thing to fly someone over from foreign conditions and think they’ll be fine in these conditions against a Dukes ball and Ollie Robinson.”
