‪@WildDiamond07‬ is now at the top of my list of favorite EAS creators. Here’s a look at EXACTLY the style of EAS I used to see between 2003-2005 on Wide Open West (WOW) Cable here in the Chicago area. This system right here is what really initially sparked my interest in EAS during that era when I was between the ages of 7 and 9. The exact voice saying “an emergency has been declared for this area” and everything else is spot-on. It’s the reason I still have a huge interest in EAS over 20 years later. A big thank you to WildDiamond and everyone else who recreated this big part of my childhood.

Super proud of this one. Probably the most realistic version of the Texscan MSI EAS screen I’ve been able to make thus far. I grew up seeing this screen regularly in the late 90s and early 2000s. This one is based on a real Severe Thunderstorm Warning my area was under on August 22, 2001. I think I’ll start making many more EAS mocks of real alerts from that era. Excited to share them with all of you!

Episode 28 of Microsoft Sam Reads Funny Signs has been uploaded. For those who are unfamiliar, Microsoft Sam is a text-to-speech voice that came standard with Windows computers in the early 2000s. Sam has since become well-known for his quirky voice and funny pronunciations. The first episode of Microsoft Sam Reads Funny Signs was originally uploaded on my old account nearly 17 years ago in early 2009. I’ve carried as much of the old ones as I could over to this channel, and have carried on the tradition of occasionally making new episodes over the years. And yes, in keeping with tradition, they retain the same since of humor from when I was making them as a young teenager.

What other compilations of my EAS alerts would you guys like to see?

That’s great and all, but how about they reinstate my original YouTube account from 2008 that was fucking banned for posting YouTube poops even though thousands of other channels that post them have been left alone? I had a LOT of good EAS content on that channel, and it’s gone forever. Fucking bullshit.

I’ve recorded 148 alerts so far in 2025, bringing me up to EAS #1,884. Continuing at this rate, I should easily reach EAS #2,000 by the end of 2026. I’m thinking it will happen sometime next summer.

I got to meet world-famous tornado chaser Reed Timmer tonight in Rockford, IL and chat with him for a couple minutes. Super nice, genuine, down-to-earth guy! I told him about how I started this channel 15 years ago and he said the hobby of recording EAS alerts is “so bad-ass!” What a cool experience!

With 2 alerts recorded just after midnight, August 19th is now my 4th straight day recording EAS alerts! If I have done that before, it’s been very rare.

This has been an incredible EAS event over the last 12 hours or so. 14 in-person alerts recorded so far. And that’s even with the 6 hours or so I missed while I was at work. If I wasn’t at work and got to record those alerts, the count for this event would be well into the 20s. Gotta love it!

Edit: forgot to also mention that today’s event has helped me quite a bit toward my goal of recording EAS #2,000 by the end of 2026.
