I was never good at coding.
It is not my forte.

Things that took me far in tech is this

Made efforts to understand business good enough
Made efforts to understand tech good enough
Made efforts to communicate clearly
Stayed curious

I use all of the above to solve business problems.

Yes, you will go far if you are that 100x coder.

But for the rest of us, this is my raw advice

-See things from a business perspective
-Be hell bent to gain domain knowledge
-Keep learning tech to solve problems
-Learn to communicate well to business folks

This will keep you relevant forever and take you far!

I'll add an interesting story in the comment section.

Folks,
People who contribute to open source have a higher chance of getting hired. Building in public shows you can solve problems, work with a global community, and create things that matter.

To reflect this philosophy, we're upgrading our GenAI Bootcamp to 3.0—now including 1 year of build-in-public mentorship. Learners won't just learn; they'll apply their skills by building in public. We've also made several updates to both content and features.

Note: Existing 1.0 and 2.0 learners will get this upgrade for free. As I've said before, we won't always be able to offer free upgrades due to costs, but I'm glad it's feasible this time. The upgrade happens on Jan 6th—anyone who enrolls in 2.0 before then will receive the free upgrade to 3.0. Check the link in comments if you're interested.

On a broader note: whatever you learn, wherever you learn, make sure you're not just watching lectures—build something as proof of your work. And while we're focused on careers, building shouldn't just be about getting a job. It should be about contributing something meaningful to the community. That way, you give back and have proof of work as a byproduct.
Our channel will continue creating content with that spirit. Expect more content that helps you build. 🙏

We all are drinking an AI cocktail.

A cocktail that has layers of truth, hype and misinformation.

On one side, you have AI company founders fueling hype to inflate valuations.

On the other, influencers with half-baked knowledge push clickbait like:

“Death of Coding”
"Learn These 5 AI Tools to Become a Millionaire”

The goal? More eyeballs, more views.

The result? Widespread fear and confusion.

I get many messages (especially from software engineers and students) worrying about their future in this fast-changing landscape.

Yes, AI is truly transformative. But the cocktail of hype and noise has created unnecessary mental fatigue.

To cut through the fog, here are two things I personally follow:

➡️ Follow experts who care about truth over an agenda.

I'm cautious about what I take from AI company CEOs or random influencers. But I trust educators like Yann LeCun, who seek truth over hype.

➡️ Learn and build.

Get hands-on. The best way to understand AI is to build with it. First-hand experience beats second-hand noise.

Do you feel this unnecessary panic around AI too?

What are you doing to stay grounded in reality?

A Reminder to everyone learning something..

I ate a rasagulla ~ consumed 250 calories

It took me only 2 minutes

Later, I went for a run ~ burned 250 calories

It took me 20 minutes!

But I converted all the fat to energy.

This is how learning works as well

EASY to consume information

HARD to digest!

You need to STOP consuming mindlessly

And START digesting through practice & application.

If you don't, you'll end up with INFORMATION FAT.

If you do, you'll become SKILL FIT.

Do you practice or apply enough? 👇🏽

Codebasics London Meetup will be this Sunday, 21st December! 🥳

We're finalizing our venue and need an accurate headcount to secure the right space. Due to capacity limitations, attendance will be first come, first served.

Please only register if you're certain you can attend – this ensures we don't reserve spots unnecessarily and everyone who wants to come has a fair chance.

Register here: lnkd.in/e7c77Tw9

(Please read the opening section carefully for details on time, location, and what to expect.)

Looking forward to seeing you there!

Folks, I am in London and thinking of organizing a codebasics community meet-up. Please upvote/like this if you are interested. This will help me gauge interest, and based on that, we will decide if we should go ahead with it.

I am in East London but don't mind traveling, as the city has an excellent transportation system. Please post in the comments if you have any suggestions for a place where we can meet (should be indoors due to the cold and rainy weather).

How much salary do AI/ML engineers get in India?

I receive this question very often.

To get a realistic picture, I simply searched for “ML Engineer” roles on Naukri (one of India’s largest job portals) and plotted this histogram based on the number of job postings in each salary band.

Quick insights:

1) Total jobs found: ~114000 (Search term "ML Engineer")

2) Majority of ML jobs (60–70%) fall in the 3–15 LPA range: This shows that the real demand today is for junior to mid-level ML engineers who can work hands-on and deliver.

3) 97 jobs with > 1 cr salary. These are mostly Director positions or a principal data scientist in a big tech company

4) Naukri is using semantic search apparently and since it is not perfect I found some irrelevant jobs such as data analyst etc. (These were rare though)

5) There are more jobs available under different titles such as "AI Engineer", "AI ML Engineer", "Gen AI Engineer" etc.

If you’re serious about entering this field, double down on practical skills. The market rewards those who can build, ship, and solve real problems.

If you are skilled but not growing in career this could be the reason:

You are indecisive.

If it resonates, read further.

In any setup, there will be a few skilled people who always try to play safe and don't make decisions. They are just afraid of being wrong and make decisions only when they are 100% sure. What they don't understand is by not making enough right decisions they don't progress and stagnate in career.

I'm not saying you should make hasty decisions - it will lead to blunders.

But you should be comfortable with the idea that in an year you will make about 20 decisions out of which 5 will be wrong, 5 will be ineffective but the remaining 10 effective decisions is what defines your progress. One of those 10 effective decisions will become a big leap in your career.

Also by making more decisions, you get fine tuned and the % of wrong / ineffective decisions reduce over time.

The best way to learn AI is

Not reading.
Not overthinking.
It's Building.

Start by building an AI agent.

I made a video through which you can build your first AI agent in 20 minutes using Zapier - no coding knowledge is required.

You’ll see how to connect different data sources, trigger workflows, and make the agent take real actions using he Zapier Agents feature. This way you will get a real feel of AI in action which is very important for anyone learning AI.

Video link in the comments 👇🏼

Feel free to share with AI enthusiasts who want to learn AI by building their first agent.
