Hi Everyone,
Many people have been wondering over the last year or so what happened to me. Well, life happened. Thank you to those who messaged to check in to see how I was going and whether I was alright.
I haven't been alright to tell you the truth, for quite sometime. Which is why I stopped making videos for now. In March 2019 my wife and I lost our little boy Logan Matthews at 22 weeks. He was born naturally, though prematurely, and died in our arms. That was a bitter pill to swallow and we were only just starting to deal with that grief when we fell pregnant again in the middle of last year.
On the 30th of January 2020, at 29 weeks gestation, we lost our 2nd little boy, Hunter Matthews, who died suddenly and unexpectedly while in care of a hospital when we came in for a routine scan. Hunter was supposed to help us heal from Logan but instead we are struck with such unimaginable grief, again, to compound with the last.
Anyone who is a bereaved parent can understand about the pain that we are going through. While in hospital where we still are, other families have constantly been coming through dealing with their own loss. It has been so shocking and upsetting knowing what those parents are going through in their own rooms.
Most people who will read this will be from overseas so a local hospital probably won't mean much to you. The Mater Mother's Hospital in Brisbane Australia has been amazing to us through this time. However, with so much loss that happens too often at just ONE hospital, we feel we can help them in just a little way.
I've started a Go Fund Me page to raise money for the hospital's Bereavement Team. With the view of purchasing more equipment and setting up specialised bereavement rooms to help families like mine when they are going through such pain. I just wanted to say thank you to everyone out there who has watched my videos over the last year or so. I hit 200k subscribers overnight which is just incredible and I never thought the videos I make would attract this sort of attention. It is very humbling and such a boost to know that people out there are enjoying this content.
I will be endeavoring to produce more content into the future and have some projects in the pipeline. Thank you again!
