I created cNOMADIC to help filmmakers like you gain the confidence to create with intention. For me, filmmaking has always been about more than just gear—it’s about storytelling with purpose and precision.

Through this channel, I share what I’ve learned over years of shooting documentaries, corporate films, and narrative projects around the world. You’ll find hands-on workshops, real-world breakdowns, and practical insights that blend technical mastery with creative exploration.

Whether you’re filming across the globe or in your own backyard, I’m here to help you turn technical knowledge into creative freedom.

A little preview of Monday’s video. A review of one of the most (if not the most) versatile pocket light on the market. Fun to play with and new opportunities with a light this flexible.

Here are the elements I removed from the frame using generative AI in Photoshop to create png layers I placed on top of the footage to hide them.

This one was a fun shoot/post used AI to remove unwanted elements in the frame (4 to be exact) can you spot them? Also decided to crop the final image to a 2.35 aspect ratio.

I always love opportunities to learn and meet new people! Today and tomorrow I’m volunteering at a lighting workshop by DOP Jayson Crother! Today was all set up with great people. If you’re in the Phoenix Area, checkout Arizona Canera Rentals for tickets.

New video drops this week. What focal length do you find yourself using most often?

For this video, I built a simple setup in my kitchen to capture a 360 of the Viltrox 35mm F1.8. Might be time to get a studio… 🤣

The cart adventure continues… It traveled well to New York City. Yes, it’s heavy (87 lbs), but having it on location made the day so much easier.

Here it is fully loaded and ready to move to another location in the building. Main light on a baby pin, Ronin built and ready to go on the top shelf, iPad monitor mounted on a baby pin, plus all the batteries, stands, tube light, and reflectors.

Everything stays ready to roll from location to location. Now let’s see if it makes it back home in one piece.

The upgrades to the cart are done! Locking latches and quick release for the wheels. This baby is ready to travel. Just in time… leaving for NYC in the morning.

I finally decided to purchase a production cart to travel with. I got the ProAim 36 Bowado. But right away noticed some serious weakness so I’m now customizing it to make it stronger and more efficient with quick release folding cam system for the wheels and butterfly latches to lock it in place when traveling! Maybe a future video review on this cart(?)
