Don’t let the bare dirt fool you... there’s a lot happening under there. ❄️
I used to think "putting the garden to bed" meant cleaning it until it was spotless, but I’ve learned my lesson. Leaving the soil naked all winter is basically an open invitation for weeds and erosion. 😬
Now, I just toss a "winter blanket" of [straw/leaves/mulch] over the beds and call it a day. It feels a little messy, but the worms love it, and it keeps the soil nice and crumbly for spring. 🌱
How about you—are you a "clean and tidy" gardener or a "leave the leaves" kind of person? 🤔
