This film almost never saw the light of day when it's original creator, Blue Sky Studios, got shut down by Disney. Thank goodness Netflix gave it a second chance in life because I want more animated films like this where you're transported to a very unique setting with fantastic animation, engaging storytelling, great voice acting, hilarious humour, a delightful dynamic between to two main characters, and well-executed themes. To put it short, this film is pure METAL!
TVC98 Recommends: Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018) and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (2023)
What is to say about the Spider-Verse films? They're special for a lot of reasons. For starters, it's one-of-a-kind animation style not only revolutionized the visual representation of the medium, but it also inspired many other animation studios to create animated films with very unique visual flairs. On top of that, both of these films offer a cast of amazing characters, edge-of-your-seat action, energetic music, and a great blend of humour and drama. Haven't seen them? What are you doing?! TVC98 Recommends: Puss in Boots: The Last Wish (2022)
This is one of my favourite animated sequels in recent memory. This film basically ticks all the boxes on how to improve upon the original in almost every aspect, from it's colourful and vibrantly stylized animation, exhilarating action set pieces, brilliant comedy, and surprisingly deep moments. My favourite aspect of the film is how it successfully juggles the depth between the three very different villains, all of which stand out in their own rights.

An outrageously hilarious and emotionally heartfelt comedy about a weird family rising up against the robotic apocalypse, this film takes a simple road trip premise and turns it into a uniquely animated masterpiece filled with loveable characters, clever humour, amazing 2D visuals, and meaningful messages. You may recall a skit I made out of this film for Pingu's TV Channels: Black & Blue. That just goes to show how much I love this one.
