As Arjuna gazes upon the divine Vishwaroopa, he is overwhelmed by awe and fear. In this verse, he expresses his deep emotional turmoil — saying he no longer knows direction, peace, or comfort. The cosmic form stretches infinitely in all directions, with countless faces, arms, and divine weapons radiating fire and brilliance like a thousand suns. Arjuna’s heart is shaken. His earlier desire to witness this form has now turned into reverence and trembling. He pleads with Lord Krishna, addressing Him as Devesha (Lord of the gods) and Jagannivasa (abode of the universe), to show mercy and return to His familiar form. This moment represents the soul’s smallness before the vast cosmic truth — that the divine is not just beautiful and loving, but also immense, fierce, and all-consuming. Arjuna’s reaction reflects the humbling realization of the divine’s true, unbounded nature.

नरसिंह जयंती भगवान विष्णु के चौथे अवतार भगवान नरसिंह की प्रकट होने की तिथि है। यह पर्व वैशाख शुक्ल पक्ष की चतुर्दशी तिथि को मनाया जाता है, जब प्रभु ने अधर्म के प्रतीक हिरण्यकशिपु का वध कर धर्म की स्थापना की थी।

त्रेता युग की बात है। असुरराज हिरण्यकशिपु ने घोर तपस्या कर ब्रह्मा से वर प्राप्त किया था—न वह किसी मनुष्य या पशु द्वारा मरेगा, न दिन में न रात में, न भीतर न बाहर, न अस्त्र से न शस्त्र से। इस वरदान के अहंकार में उसने स्वयं को ईश्वर घोषित कर दिया और विष्णु-भक्ति पर प्रतिबंध लगा दिया।

लेकिन उसका पुत्र प्रह्लाद विष्णु का परम भक्त था। अत्याचार, धमकी, अग्नि—कुछ भी उसकी भक्ति को डिगा नहीं सका। क्रोधित होकर हिरण्यकशिपु ने पूछा, “कहाँ है तेरा विष्णु?”

प्रह्लाद ने शांत भाव से उत्तर दिया, “वह सर्वत्र है।”

गुस्से से कांपते हुए हिरण्यकशिपु ने महल के स्तंभ पर प्रहार किया। तभी वह स्तंभ फट गया और उसमें से प्रकट हुए भगवान नरसिंह—अर्ध-मानव, अर्ध-सिंह का अद्भुत रूप।

भगवान नरसिंह ने हिरण्यकशिपु को संध्या समय चौखट पर अपनी जांघों पर बैठाकर, अपने नाखूनों से उसका अंत कर दिया—न हथियार, न मनुष्य, न पशु—वरदान के सारे बंधनों को भेदकर।

जब प्रह्लाद उनके पास आया, तो भगवान नरसिंह का रौद्र रूप शांत हो गया। उन्होंने उसे आशीर्वाद दिया और कहा, “सच्ची भक्ति से ही अधर्म का विनाश संभव है।”

इस प्रकार, बालक की अटल श्रद्धा ने अधर्म पर धर्म की विजय दिलाई।
