Mohamed Ayoub, a young Rohingya man, carried his elderly parents in two baskets for 15 days while fleeing violence in Myanmar’s Rakhine state. With no vehicle, no money, and no safe shelter, he walked barefoot—facing hunger, exhaustion, and heavy rain—because he refused to leave his parents behind.

During the journey, his father tragically passed away. Heartbroken, Ayoub continued forward with his mother, determined to save at least one life he loved.

Today, Ayoub is appealing to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for medical assistance and support for his ailing mother.

His story is a reminder that even in the darkest times, love, faith, and loyalty can shine brighter than fear.

This is not just a story about escape.
This is a story about what it means to be human.
