👀I love Hermes, but I need to state that the sensational headlines of how Birkins and Kellys are said to outperform stocks and gold need much closer looks, I'm getting bothered and feel the need to write a post. Firstly, they are not as LIQUID as stocks/ gold/ other commodities i.e. it takes time for bags to sell AND the middle person takes a significant cut - the resellers/ auction houses. The condition of the bags matter, unless you buy to resell i.e. you USE the bags, they are not gonna be in 'perfect' condition which takes away from the selling price. I just wanted to put it out there that yes, Birkins and Kellys still demand a premium over RETAIL but this will NOT cover your pre-spend expenditure PLUS it also depends on the size, colour and condition of your Bs and Ks and of course TIMING. So, I hope this helps some of you guys who may have been bombarded by all these overly positive and simplistic headlines. While I can tell you which bags may have a higher resale value, I will never ask you to buy a bag for 'investment' for ROI, it does not properly apply and no, I'm not just sharing theory.
