We almost missed this... 🐻🌧️

Hi everyone! If you’ve ever wondered what animals do when the weather gets messy, I have a heartwarming surprise for you today.

During a recent downpour at the Berlin Zoo, Jim and I were actually packing up our gear and running for the exit to stay dry. But we were stopped completely in our tracks by an unexpected sight.

The zoo's three brown bear brothers—Lucifer, Lillebror, and Momoa—were having the absolute time of their lives splashing, wrestling, and chasing each other in the puddles! Watching their playful bond and incredible family dynamics reminded me so much of the joyful moments we love watching with our favorite gorilla troops. It completely turned a gray day into something magical.

Yesterday, we shared this sweet video featuring Mara from the Columbus Zoo. I've loved reading the comments about this sweet little gorilla.

One of my favorite things about filming baby gorillas is seeing how different they all are. We've filmed youngsters in Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Prague, and now Columbus, and each one has their own unique personality.

This sweet baby chimpanzee completely stole my heart with his tiny expressions, playful personality, and curious little face. Watching baby primates grow and learn is always fascinating, and Martin was such a joy to film.

We recently checked in on Daisy at the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden… and in just a few minutes, she completely stole our hearts.

From a quick grooming moment with her mom, Gilda, to quietly exploring on her own, Daisy shows just how gentle and expressive bonobos can be.

They don’t get nearly as much attention as other great apes—but maybe they should. 💛
