Every child on earth was created by God for a purpose and I'm sure is for a great destiny. God is a good God and everything He makes is good therefore, I'm convinced He will never creat any child to be a thorn in his/her parents' flesh.

If you think that your child is "STUBBORN" and does not listen and keep to instructions, then the problem may be coming from you.
That a person decides to use a basket to fetch water, does it make the basket not useful?

One day, I was teaching a teens' class and one of them asked a question, even though I can't recall the question now but my response was "your parents do not understand you".
Hmmm 🤔, he muttered, how can you say that my parents who gave birth to me and I have lived with for 14years now don't understand me? The teenager wasn't satisfied with my answer

Dear parent, do you actually know and understand who your child is?

If you observe all of your children, none of them behave same way even though they are identical twins coming from the same sac in the womb, same day, living in the same house and exposed under same environmental conditions yet do not exhibit same character , then there must be more to this.

*Why do parents, teachers and caregivers of children need to learn the discipline that works?*

I will share a parent's story from the book of the month "The Discipline that works by Wendy Ologe".

My Dad was a good man and had good intentions of giving us the best, but he missed it. His delivery was terrible. Although we have now done "his bidding" and turned out "successful" but he had lost a relationship with us and made us an emotional wreck. He wants a relationship now out of the blues. He expects us to just take it that his intentions were great but unfortunately, it's tough for us because we are already broken. We became broken 💔 adults because my father couldn't control his emotions. I was emotionally abused (Yelling, flogging and beating), and that eroded my confidence even as an adult. I became a pleaser to get succor from outside. Practically, we are adults on repair. Unfortunately, we are taking our broken selves to the new relationship of parenting our own children.

Many parents today especially in Africa have similar stories about our upbringing. Was it because our parents were bad and they never loved us?
No way! In fact, they were amazing 🤩, but they just lacked knowledge.

As parents today, we will also cause the same damage to our children if we do not seek knowledge on better and more effective ways to discipline our children.
Parenting is about connection, not control.
