Learn how to use SYMBOLS for HALF DROP REPEAT PATTERNS in Adobe Illustrator!!! In a previous video, I demonstrated how symbols can be useful on a regular repeat pattern. But symbols can also really come in handy for half drop repeat patterns as well! Editing your repeats with symbols can make your design work faster, easier, and more efficient.
When you turn an object into a symbol, and when you edit the symbol, it will cause EVERY instance of that symbol to be edited in exactly the same way at the same time. This can really be useful when editing repeat pattern edges. The changes that you make to one symbol will cause the corresponding symbol to change in the same way automatically. Helping to ensure that your Illustrator pattern remains seamless!!!

***Make sure to check out this super useful technique! You won’t want to miss it! Click the link to watch: https://youtu.be/ZVYOav4Y5QY

***There will also be a Part 2 coming soon where I’ll show you how to use the technique in this lesson to create FAST variations of your Illustrator pattern. Make sure you look out for that video too! Link will be posted when it comes out. See you there!
