This channel is dedicated to spreading authentic Islamic knowledge based upon the Qur'an, the Sunnah, and the understanding of the righteous predecessors (al-Salaf al-Sālih).
Our primary goals are:
• Translating beneficial lectures, fatwas, and books of the scholars of Ahl al-Sunnah into English to benefit Muslims worldwide.
• Making Islamic knowledge accessible to non-Arabic speakers while preserving the intended meanings of the scholars.
Translation Methodology:
• Translations are prepared directly from the original Arabic texts and recordings whenever available.
• Corrections from students of knowledge and people of expertise are sincerely welcomed.
I do not claim scholarship or issue independent fatwas. Rather, this channel serves as a means of conveying and translating the words of the scholars of Ahl al-Sunnah.

The *Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
“Were you unable to be like the old woman of the Children of Israel?”*
Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: The Prophet ﷺ visited a Bedouin, and the Bedouin treated him generously. The Prophet ﷺ then said to him, "Come and visit us." The Bedouin later came to him, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Ask for whatever you need."
The Bedouin said, “A she-camel for us to ride, and some goats for my family to milk.”
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then said:
“Were you unable to be like the old woman of the Children of Israel?”
They said, “O Messenger of Allah, who was the old woman of the Children of Israel?”
He said:
“When Musa (Moses) set out with the Children of Israel from Egypt, they lost their way. He said, ‘What is this?’ Their scholars replied, ‘When Yusuf (Joseph) was near death, he took a covenant from us by Allah that we would not leave Egypt until we carried his bones with us.’
He said, ‘Who knows the location of his grave?’
They replied, ‘An old woman from the Children of Israel.’
So he sent for her, and she came to him. He said, ‘Show me the grave of Yusuf.’
She said, ‘Not until you grant me my request.’
He said, ‘And what is your request?’
She said, ‘That I be with you in Paradise.’
He disliked granting her that, so Allah revealed to him, ‘Grant her what she has requested.’
She then led them to a small lake, a place of stagnant water, and said, ‘Drain this water.’ They drained it. Then she said, ‘Dig here.’ They dug and brought out the bones of Yusuf. When they carried them onto dry land, the path became as clear as the light of day.” ( Shaykh Al-Albani said in al-Silsilah al-Sahīḥah under Hadith no. 313:
Benefit: “For a long time, I found the wording in this hadith—‘the bones of Yusuf’—to be problematic, because its apparent meaning seems to conflict with the authentic hadith:
‘Indeed, Allah has forbidden the earth from consuming the bodies of the Prophets.’
This remained unclear to me until I came across the hadith of Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with them), in which it is reported that when the Prophet ﷺ grew heavier in body, Tamim al-Dari said to him:
‘O Messenger of Allah, shall I make for you a pulpit that will gather—or carry—your bones?’
He replied, ‘Yes.’
So he made for him a pulpit with two steps.
This was narrated by Abu Dawud (1081) with a good chain of narration according to the conditions of Muslim.
From this, I understood that they used the word ‘bones’ while intending the entire body. This is an example of mentioning a part while intending the whole, just as Allah, the Exalted, says:
﴿وَقُرْآنَ الْفَجْرِ﴾ ('and the Qur'an of dawn') [Al-Isra': 78],
meaning the Fajr prayer.
Thus, the difficulty was removed, and all praise belongs to Allah. I have written this here to clarify the matter.”)
*Authentic. Narrated by Abu Ya‘lā and al-Hākim.*
This is the story of an old woman from the Children of Israel. She was presented with a tremendous opportunity, and she seized it and made the most of it—not to gain the wealth and pleasures of this worldly life, but to attain the highest ranks in the Gardens of Bliss.
Musa (peace be upon him) asked her to show him the grave of the Prophet Yusuf (Joseph), so that he could take his body with him when leading the Children of Israel out of Egypt to al-Sham (Greater Syria). No one knew the location of Yusuf's grave except this woman. However, she refused to show him the grave unless he granted her request: that she would be with him in Paradise on the Day of Resurrection. Allah then granted her request.
This story contains a tremendous lesson about taking advantage of opportunities, having lofty aspirations, and striving for the highest goals. When this elderly woman was given the opportunity to ask and set a condition, she accepted nothing less than the greatest request possible—to accompany the one to whom Allah spoke directly, Musa, in Paradise.
Life is full of opportunities. How many an elderly woman is, by Allah, better than a thousand young men when it comes to making the most of opportunities! For this reason, the Prophet ﷺ made her an example to be followed in seeking the highest and noblest goals.
This also serves as a gentle rebuke to the Bedouin. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ offered him the chance to ask for whatever he wished and encouraged him to seize that opportunity, because life is full of opportunities. Yet he failed to take advantage of it, asking only for a riding camel and some goats to milk. These are merely worldly possessions that are insignificant compared to the goodness of the Hereafter.
This is guidance for the people to strive for lofty ambitions and to seek the everlasting rewards of the Hereafter rather than the fleeting gains of this worldly life.

The Tireless Pursuit of Knowledge by the Early Hadith Scholars
They Could Only Find Time to Read to the Shaykh at Night:
It is mentioned in al-Jarh wa al-Ta‘dil by ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Hatim, and in Tahdhib al-Kamal by al-Mizzi, in the biography of the hafiz Abu ‘Abd al-Rahman ‘Abdullah ibn Maslamah al-qa‘nabi al-Madani, who resided in Basrah and then Makkah al-Mukarramah, and who died there in the year 221 AH, the student of Imam Malik, may Allah the Most High have mercy upon them both, the following:
‘Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Hatim said:
“I said to my father: ‘Is al-Qa‘nabi more beloved to you regarding the Muwatta’, or Isma‘il ibn Abi Uways?’
He said: ‘Al-Qa‘nabi is more beloved to me. I have not seen anyone more humble than him. We asked him to read the Muwatta’ to us, so he said: “Come in the early morning.”
We said: “We have a gathering with al-Hajjaj” — Hajjaj ibn Yusuf, known as Ibn al-Sha‘ir.
He said: “Then when you finish with al-Hajjaj?”
We said: “We go to Muslim ibn Ibrahim al-Azdi.”
He said: “Then when you finish?”
We said: “It will be the time of Zuhr, and we go to Abu Hudhayfah” — Musa ibn Mas‘ud al-Nahdi al-Basri.
He said: “Then after ‘Asr?”
We said: “We go to ‘Arim” — al-Sadusi.
He said: “Then after Maghrib.”
So we used to come to him at night, and he would come out to us wearing only a kaba’, with nothing underneath it, during the summer in the intense heat. He would read to us while wrapped in his garment, though if he wished, much wealth could have been given to him.”
Ibn Abi Hatim Reading to His Father While He Was Eating, Walking, and in the Restroom:
It is mentioned in Siyar A‘lam al-Nubala’, in the biography of the noble imam, distinguished hadith scholar and critic, the hafiz Abu Hatim Muhammad ibn Idris al-Hanzali al-Razi, who was born in the year 195 AH and died in the year 277 AH, may Allah the Most High have mercy upon him, the following:
‘Ali ibn Ibrahim al-Razi said:
Ahmad ibn ‘Ali al-Raqqam narrated to us: I heard al-Hasan ibn al-Husayn al-Darastini say: I heard Abu Hatim saying:
“Abu Zur‘ah said to me: ‘I have not seen anyone more eager in seeking hadith than you.’
So I said to him: ‘Indeed, my son ‘Abd al-Rahman is truly eager.’
He said: ‘Whoever resembles his father has done no wrong.’
Al-Raqqam said: So I asked ‘Abd al-Rahman about the consistency of his extensive listening and his questioning of his father.
He said: ‘Sometimes he would be eating while I read to him, and walking while I read to him, and entering the restroom while I read to him, and entering the house in search of something while I read to him.’”
