Sinners won two Golden Globe Awards on Sunday night after receiving seven nominations, the third most of any film. The drama - about twin brothers whose plan to open a juke joint in their hometown is threatened by the KKK and vampires - took home the Cinematic and Box Office Achievement award, a category introduced in 2024 to honor popular films often overlooked by awards shows.
The film grossed nearly $280 million domestically, ranking as the seventh-highest-grossing U.S. film of the year, and earned a rare 97% score on Rotten Tomatoes.
Composer Ludwig Göransson also won Best Score, though the televised broadcast cut away during the announcement.

The Golden Globes opened with the Best Supporting Actress award, presented by Amanda Seyfried and Jennifer Garner. When her name was announced, #TeyanaTaylor burst into tears, sharing a quick, heartfelt exchange with fellow Golden Globe nominee Julia Roberts - whom she had earlier said she hoped to meet - as she made her way to the stage.
In her acceptance speech, Taylor addressed her daughters watching from upstairs at the Beverly Hilton, where the ceremony was held, joking, “Y’all better be off them damn phones and watching me right now.” She also paid tribute to “Paul ‘Let him cook’ Thomas Anderson,” adding, “Thank you for your vision, your trust, and your brilliance. My gratitude is endless.”
Taylor closed with a powerful message to Black women, saying, “To my brown sisters and little brown girls watching tonight, our softness is not a liability. Our depth is not too much. Our light does not need permission to shine. We belong in every room we walk into. Our voices matter, and our dreams deserve space.”

T.K. Carter, a talented actor whose work spanned decades and genres, and whose presence always left a mark, has died at the age of 69.
Many of us will forever remember him as Nauls in John Carpenter’s The Thing - a performance that helped define one of the most enduring films in sci-fi and horror history. But his career reached far beyond the Antarctic. From Runaway Train to Space Jam to Domino, and from Good Times, Punky Brewster to The Steve Harvey Show, T.K. Carter showed remarkable range, moving effortlessly between drama, comedy, and character work.
