INTERACTIVE POST: What’s something you really enjoyed doing but eventually stopped? For me, it was drawing in my old style. Back before I went digital, I was all about traditional art...grotesque, highly detailed pieces drawn with oil pastels and scanned in like some old HP scanner from the 90s... My focus? Monsters and zombies that looked so grimy they looked like they belonged on an Iron Maiden tour poster standing right next to Eddie. But here’s the twist... I started getting a lot of hate for it. People thought the details were too gross, too uncanny. Over time, that negativity kept barging in, and I drifted away from that style. These days, my art is more simplified, and while I’m happy with it, sometimes I miss those raw, ugly, gnarly styles that made my old work feel alive (or undead...pun intended...) I always wonder...if I had leaned into that style at the start of my YouTube career...would people have seen me as unique and fearless, or just written me off as some dirtbag obsessed with drawing the cover art for "number of the Beast"? Fate clearly had other plans, but that "what if" still lingers. Either way, I’m still glad I picked up a pencil and created art, unlike ai prompters... and maybe one day, I’ll dust off the old oil pastels and let that wreck return. So what about you? What’s something you used to love doing, but for whatever reason, had to leave behind?
