Um, at 1am last night, OpenAI announced an "experimental reasoning LLM" got gold on the Math Olympiad 😳

This is a massively big deal, so much so that there was only a 20% chance of this happening this year according to Polymarket.

OpenAI's Noam Brown walked through a bit of what this meant (this LLM thought for hours!) but good lord...

If you know anyone saying 'AI progress has stalled'... it hasn't.

AI For Humans is moving...to FRIDAYS. Same show, same AI, same dumb hosts... now on Friday!

Starting this week, we'll be shifting back one day in the week. This is for a number of reasons (better wrap up of AI news, our <REDACTED> start-up work schedule, our general irritability, etc) but the show will remain entirely the same.

Hopefully, the YouTube gods will not punish us going forward.

New Claude & Opus models incoming from Anthropic! The Information has a pretty good scoop regarding the next SOTA models from Dario Amodei and crew. Specifically interesting is the fact they'll be a sort of reasoning / non-reasoning hybrid model with an emphasis on not having to check in as often.
