I started as a lighting jock at my old Students’ Union, then got the bug hanging out with the residents and guest DJ’s (some big names from the clubs back in the 90’s). I started out using the first generation Pioneer CDJ’s, as buying Vinyl was not in my student budget!! Once I could put together a half decent 90 minute mixtape, I started DJing out to small and medium audiences. Mostly House and Dance genres. Once I could afford a pair of 1210’s, I started to collect as much vinyl as possible, beat matching and grafting like my peers. Got to play to some decent crowds and then life took over and late nights came to an end!! However with digital came the opportunity to come out or retirement and now I can broadcast and share via YouTube and Podcasts. Hope you Njoy these mixes. Cheers DJ Monty
