Someone sent me a message recently asking if I'd ever created a countries visited map. It's been more than a decade since I have, so I decided to create a new one. As I've mentioned in previous videos, I consider myself to have visited 97 UN countries or 100 countries total if I include the disputed countries of Taiwan, Kosovo and Northern Cyprus, which aren't fully recognized by the UN. But there are various ways to count how many countries you've been to. With this website it depends on whether you click a box that only includes UN countries. In that case it shows 95, because they don't count Vatican City and Palestine, which I do count because they have observer status at the UN. Otherwise, they show me as having visited 105 countries, because then they include places like the US Virgin Islands, Aruba, Curacao, French Polynesia, etc. So counting countries isn't necessarily an exact science. Always fun when you get noticed by the local news. They did a good job getting the facts straight, except for the half a dozen Jagermeisters. If that were the case I would have ended up sleeping on the street somewhere instead of in my comfy apartment. I had one sixth of a dozen (in other words two), but whatever. Really cool news, they just found the bust of Jim Morrison, which was stolen from his gravesite in Paris back in 1988. Hopefully they put it back at his grave, but secured somehow so it doesn't disappear again. I've been there twice and would go again to see the bust. I'm all good, didn't feel the earthquake at all today. I was en route from Ko Larn to Ko Samet and was in a minivan when it happened. Didn't know about it until I saw ‪@PaddyDoyle.‬ had posted on Instagram, which is kind of interesting considering that I was on my way to Ko Samet because of Paddy's video from a few weeks ago. Very sad to hear about both the collapsed building in Bangkok where hundreds of workers are now missing as well as the destruction in Myanmar which looks immense. Prayers to all affected. I filmed a video today but it was an intense travel day, I'm exhausted, haven't started editing it yet at almost 8pm here and also slow internet, so it definitely won't get posted today, maybe tomorrow.
