1. Sales and Marketing Manager – Nairobi Office(1) 

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.

Proven 5 year experience as a Sales and Marketing Manager or similar role, with a successful track record in driving sales and executing marketing strategies in a 5 star Hotel.

Proficiency in CRM software, marketing automation tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Ability to analyze data, generate insights, and make data-driven decisions.


2. Sales and Marketing Representatives – Nairobi Office (2). 

Qualifications:

Diploma in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).

Proven 3 year experience in sales and marketing, with a track record of meeting or exceeding targets in a 5 star Hotel.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.   Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with CRM software.

 3. Receptionist – Nairobi Office (1). 

Qualifications: 

Diploma in office administration Or its equivalent. Proven experience as a receptionist or in a similar customer-facing role in a hospitality industry.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and office equipment (e.g., fax machines, copiers).

Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and integrity. 

4. Senior Reservations Agent – Maasai Mara (2). 

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).

Proven 3 years’ experience in a reservations role, with a strong background in managing complex bookings and leading a team.

Proficiency in reservation systems and software, with a solid understanding of best practices and industry standards.

Experience in training and mentoring team members is a plus.

1. Position: Restaurant Supervisors (3)

Job Description:
As the Restaurant Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing all restaurant operations, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction, and managing the day-to-day activities of the dining area. You will lead a team of waitstaff, coordinate with the kitchen, and ensure that all guests have an unforgettable dining experience. Your key responsibilities will include:
• Supervising the daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring efficiency and smooth workflow.
• Training, mentoring, and managing restaurant staff to maintain high service standards.
• Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Handling customer inquiries, feedback, and complaints professionally.
• Coordinating with the kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate food service.
• Managing inventory, ordering supplies, and controlling costs.
• Implementing and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation in the restaurant.
• Scheduling staff shifts and managing time-off requests.
• Assisting in menu planning and special event coordination.
• Conducting regular inspections to ensure the restaurant adheres to quality standards.

Minimum Qualifications:
• A minimum of 5 years of experience working in a 4 or 5-star lodge or tented camp.
• Diploma in Food and Beverage from a recognized institution. • Training from Utalii College is highly desirable.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations in the hospitality industry.


2. Position: Housekeeping Supervisor (2)

Job Description:
As the Housekeeping Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the cleanliness, orderliness, and appearance of the entire lodge. You will lead and supervise the housekeeping team to ensure that all guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas are maintained to the highest standards. Your key responsibilities will include:
• Supervising daily housekeeping operations, ensuring that all rooms and public areas are cleaned and maintained to the highest standards.
• Training, mentoring, and managing the housekeeping staff to ensure consistency and quality in all areas of housekeeping.
• Conducting regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas to ensure adherence to cleanliness and maintenance standards.
• Managing inventory, ordering housekeeping supplies, and controlling costs to meet budgetary requirements.
• Coordinating with other departments, such as front office and maintenance, to ensure seamless guest service.
• Handling guest inquiries and complaints related to housekeeping services promptly and professionally.
• Implementing and enforcing health and safety standards within the housekeeping department.
• Scheduling staff shifts, managing time-off requests, and ensuring adequate staffing levels at all times.
• Assisting in special cleaning projects and deep-cleaning schedules.
• Maintaining proper documentation and records related to housekeeping operations.

Minimum Qualifications:
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in housekeeping supervision in a 4 or 5-star lodge or tented camp.
• Diploma in Housekeeping Operations. • Training from Utalii College is highly desirable.

3. Position: Front Desk Supervisor (1)

Job Description:
As the Front Desk Supervisor, you will be the face of Zebra Plains Collections, responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the front desk, ensuring smooth check-in and check-out processes, and providing outstanding customer service. Your key responsibilities will include:
• Supervising the front desk operations to ensure efficient guest service and smooth administrative procedures.
• Training, mentoring, and managing front desk staff, ensuring they provide exceptional customer service.
• Handling guest inquiries, reservations, and complaints in a professional and timely manner.
• Coordinating with other departments, such as housekeeping and maintenance, to ensure seamless service delivery.
• Managing room assignments and ensuring that guest requests and preferences are met.
• Overseeing billing, cash handling, and credit card transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
• Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of lodge facilities, services, and local attractions to assist guests effectively.
• Implementing and enforcing standard operating procedures (SOPs) for front desk operations.
• Monitoring and managing front desk inventory, including supplies and promotional materials.
• Preparing reports on front desk activities, guest feedback, and occupancy rates.

Minimum Qualifications:
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in front desk supervision at a 4 or 5-star lodge or tented camp.
• Diploma in Hospitality Management.
• Training from Utalii College is highly desirable.
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Proficiency in using hotel management software and MS Office.
• Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
• Knowledge of customer service principles and practices in the hospitality industry.

HISTORIC FLOODS IN MAASAI MARA

Dated 06th May, 2024,

Zebra River Camp, one of the three camps within the Zebra Plains Collection, wishes to inform our esteemed Travel Agents, Tour Operators, and partners that on 01 st May 2024, seven of our rooms experienced flooding due to the overflow of the Talek River.
Ensuring the safety and comfort of our guests has always been our utmost priority, prompting us to take immediate action to address the situation. Our dedicated team is already in the process of constructing seven new rooms on higher ground, ensuring their safety from any potential future floods.
To guarantee a seamless and enjoyable experience for our guests, we have decided to temporarily close Zebra River Camp. This closure will enable us to focus on the refurbishment of the affected rooms and the clearance of debris resulting from the floods.
We aim to reopen on 01 st June 2024, with nine unaffected rooms, with the remaining seven rooms expected to be ready by mid-June 2024. Significant progress is already underway, with attention to finer details continuing until June 15th , 2024, when the entire camp will resume full operation.
Recognizing that this closure may inconvenience those with bookings during this period, we are delighted to announce that all affected bookings will be automatically upgraded to Little Zebra River Camp, which fortunately remained unaffected by the floods. Little Zebra River Camp offers the same exceptional service, luxurious accommodations, and unforgettable safari experiences that our guests have come to expect from Zebra River Camp. We are confident that our guests will thoroughly enjoy their stay at Little Zebra River Camp.
Our main camp, Zebra Plains Mara Camp, remains fully operational, situated safely atop a hill, impervious to flood risks.
We extend our sincere gratitude to our partners and guests for their continued support and understanding during this time.

The Amboseli elephants inhabit both Kenya and Tanzania—they are a cross-border population. Kenya banned all hunting in 1977 but Tanzania has an active hunting industry. Recently three male elephants from this trans-border population were shot by sport hunters in an area south of the Kenya border in Tanzania. The hunts were legal, but we contend that they go against everything we strive for in conservation. The fact that the bodies of the hunted elephants were burned to avoid them being identified suggests the hunters felt the same way...

Please sign this petition for the Tanzanian government to stop the hunting of elephants in the cross-border area.
