Church of Vytautas the Great, Kaunas, Lithuania.

Drone. DJI Mavic Air 3.

Church of Vytautas the Great or the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary (Lithuanian: Vytauto Didžiojo bažnyčia) is a Roman Catholic church in the Old Town of Kaunas, Lithuania, and is the oldest church in the city and an important example of Gothic architecture in Lithuania, having the only Gothic cross-shaped plan (with side chapels) in Lithuania.

The church was built on the north bank of the Neman River around 1400 for Franciscan friars and foreign merchants. It was ordered and funded by Vytautas the Great as a commendation to the Blessed Virgin Mary for saving his life after a major defeat in the Battle of the Vorskla River.

Being quite close to the river the church has suffered many times from spring floods. In 1812 it was burned by French troops. The Franciscan friary was closed by Russian administration after the November Uprising. In 1845, the Catholic church was closed and later was rebuilt and reopened as an Orthodox church. From 1903 it served as military barracks. In 1915 Germans organised a warehouse here. The building returned to the Catholic Church in 1919 and underwent major renovation works in 1931–1938, and again in 1978–1982.

Solesmes, Drone, Mavic3, Areal, France, Sarthe, Pays de la Loire

Solesmes (French pronunciation: [sɔlɛm]) is a commune in the Sarthe department and Pays de la Loire region of north-western France.

Lying close to the small town of Sablé-sur-Sarthe and almost entirely agricultural in character, the commune is especially noted as the site of the Benedictine Abbey of St Peter, founded in 1010, suppressed by the National Constituent Assembly in 1791, and re-established by Dom Prosper Guéranger in 1833. A second abbey for women, St Cecilia's, is also located here.

Dolomites, Italy, UNESCO, 4K, DJI, Mavic 3, Drone, Areal

The Dolomites (Italian: Dolomiti [doloˈmiːti]), also known as the Dolomite Mountains, Dolomite Alps or Dolomitic Alps, are a mountain range in northeastern Italy. They form part of the Southern Limestone Alps and extend from the River Adige in the west to the Piave Valley (Pieve di Cadore) in the east. The northern and southern borders are defined by the Puster Valley and the Sugana Valley (Italian: Valsugana). The Dolomites are in the regions of Veneto, Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol and Friuli-Venezia Giulia, covering an area shared between the provinces of Belluno, Vicenza, Verona, Trentino, South Tyrol, Udine and Pordenone.

Other mountain groups of similar geological structure are spread along the River Piave to the east—Dolomiti d'Oltrepiave; and far away over the Adige River to the west—Dolomiti di Brenta (Western Dolomites). A smaller group is called Piccole Dolomiti (Little Dolomites), between the provinces of Trentino, Verona and Vicenza.

The Dolomiti Bellunesi National Park and many other regional parks are in the Dolomites. On 26 June 2009, the Dolomites were declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Adamello-Brenta UNESCO Global Geopark is also in the Dolomites. The Geological Museum of the Dolomites (in Italian Museo Geologico delle Dolomiti) is located in Predazzo, Fiemme Valley..

Šv. Jurgio konventas
Šv. Jurgio kankinio pranciškonų bažnyčia Kaune

Gothic, Monastery, Franciscan, DJI, Drone, Mavic3, Lithuania, Kaunas

St. George the Martyr Church, Kaunas (Lithuanian: Kauno Šv. Jurgio Kankinio bažnyčia) is a Roman Catholic church in the Old Town of Kaunas, Lithuania, which stands in front of the Kaunas Castle. It is a prominent example of Gothic architecture in Lithuania.

Its history began in 1471 when Stanislovas Sendzivojevičius, the Court Marshall of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, donated a plot of land on the outskirts of Kaunas and Ivaška Viaževičius, the Elder of Kaunas, agreed to fund the building of a wooden church and an adjacent monastery for the Bernardine monks. Two decades later it was decided to re-build the church and the monastery in a Brick Gothic style. The construction began in 1492 and ended in 1502.

It was built roughly at the same time as the St. Anne's Church and the Bernardine churches in Vilnius and at the time of construction was second by ranking Bernardines (Franciscans) ensemble in Lithuania after Vilnius' ensemble. All three churches were most likely built by the same famed architect from Danzig, Michael Enkinger.

The church was heavily damaged during the Napoleonic Wars and most recently during the occupation of the Baltic states when the church was converted into a medicine warehouse.

Pazaislio vienuolynas, Pazaislis abbey, Camaldolese monks, Baroque, Drone, DJI, Mavic 3, Lithuania

It is one of the most beautiful ensembles of Baroque style in Lithuania. In the 17th century Kristupas Žygimantas Pacas (1621–1684), Chancellor of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, built the shrine for Camaldolese monks on the edge of Kaunas, in the remote forest at that time. The ensemble was designed by an Italian architect Giovanni Battista Frediani and decorated with moldings of Lombardy’s craftsmen and frescoes of a Florentine painter Mikelios Arkangelo Palonio. The peculiarity of the ensemble is determined by a unique architectural decision. About 140 frescoes of various sizes survived in the buildings of the monastery ensemble. You can see a famous painting “the Mother of Fair Love” in the monastery, which was presented to Kristupas Zigmantas Pacas, the founder of Pažaislis Church, by Pope Alexander VII in 1661. On 15 June 1992 Pažaislis monastery was returned to the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Casimir. Thanks to the sisters Pažaislis is becoming not only home of the congregation but also a spiritual centre. Pažaislis opens its gates for new public cultural traditions: the guests are introduced to artistic values of the monastery, meetings of culture actors with the society and poetry events are organized. Every summer, since 1996 more and more popular international Pažaislis Music Festival has taken place. In 2011 Sacral Museum of Ensemble of Pažaislis Monastery was opened in the southern part of the monastery. Educational programs take place in this museum. There is a unique Hospitality complex “Monte Pacis” next to the museum of Pažaislis Monastery where visiting guests may enjoy the dishes which reflect the latest trends of the gastronomy world, and which are inspired by the unique place and invaluable community with Sisters of St. Casimir.
