Trauma does not have to define us! It can be a part of our story and our journey but it does not have to be “the main character.” Through God there is healing, help, & hope for our trauma. Every Christian has the power to overcome, not because of our own strength or will power but cause of the power of Christ Jesus our Lord! The TRUTH is in the WORD OF GOD and who GOD SAYS we are. God loves us, I mean really loves us! When hold on to that and truly believe that, it’s both life changing and earth shattering! The truth of who we are in God has the ability to cut ever stronghold of trauma that seeks to hold us captive. We just have to be willing and ready participates to receive that TRUTH and live from THE TRUTH. Whatever life experiences you have gone through and whatever trauma you have had to suffer through, just know your last trauma does not define you. God doesn't want perfection... he wants your "yes". I have learned that obedience is my job and outcome is his job. I'm only required to submit my yes and have faith that He will perfect the things concerning me, not ME perfecting those things. Today My heart posture is to take a deep breath and let go of the expectation to be perfect when that's not what God has called me to be. It's in my imperfection that he is made strong and beautiful in my life. I encourage you to do the same. With all that's going on, all the hurt and chaos, take a deep breath. It's ok to not have your shit together. It's ok to cry, be angry, be frustrated. Acknowledge how you truly are feeling because it's in those moments his power is made perfect.
